Our executive team
In 2009, Tim and co-founder Jake Gibson started NerdWallet with a goal to bring clarity to all of life's financial decisions. Since then, he's been busy as CEO of NerdWallet, helping inspire our Nerds to bring clarity to personal finance. "NerdWallet is on a mission shared by a dedicated group of Nerds. The idea of a world where everyone is empowered to make financial decisions with confidence transcends any individual, permeating the entire organization's values."
Prior to joining NerdWallet, John was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Divvy Homes, which was acquired by Brookfield in early 2025. Earlier in his career, John spent nearly eight years at Blackstone where he last served as a Managing Director in the Private Equity group, and he also held roles at TPG and Merrill Lynch. "NerdWallet has a strong foundation to build from and there is a lot of opportunity ahead to make NerdWallet the no-brainer place to shop for all financial products."
David is a veteran product leader with two decades of experience leading product organizations across finance, healthcare and consumer technology with a focus on simplifying complex marketplaces and building products to better serve customers. Prior to NerdWallet, David held senior product leadership roles at Two Chairs, Credit Karma, HotelTonight, Yahoo! and E*TRADE. “NerdWallet is uniquely positioned to build the products people trust to navigate life’s most important financial decisions. By removing complexity from the consumer journey, we turn uncertainty into clarity and deliver real, lasting impact for millions.”
E's experience as a corporate generalist spans multiple subject matters, including, but not limited to, corporate governance, securities, data privacy, technology and intellectual property, regulatory and government affairs, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, and property management. "At NerdWallet, we always aim to lead from the front, whether by utilizing our cutting-edge data analytics, research, and content publishing platforms, or using our voice to encourage private industry to take a stand socially and invest dollars in the communities most in need."
Prior to joining NerdWallet, Sam was President and Chief Commercial Officer at ConsumerAffairs, where he led sales, marketing, product, and general management. He previously served as Chief Revenue Officer and GM, Home at LendingTree, was the Chief Commercial Officer at Cadre, and also founded and ran an independent mortgage brokerage. “NerdWallet is uniquely positioned to deliver on its mission to help consumers make smarter financial decisions and the opportunity to help drive growth is both challenging and exciting. Financial decisions are deeply personal and significant, which makes this work especially meaningful and impactful.”
Hanah started her career in journalism almost 20 years ago and has worked as a writer for The Associated Press, The Los Angeles Times, The Baltimore Sun, and The Dallas Morning News. Her specialties include mutual funds, energy issues, small businesses, entrepreneurs, and workplace trends. She has a B.A. in English and Political Science from Rutgers University and a Masters in Journalism from the University of Maryland.
