The Citi Double Cash® Card is a longtime favorite at NerdWallet because it offers the best overall flat cash-back rate of any credit card with a $0 annual fee. We like it so much that we've regularly recommended it even though it hasn't offered a sign-up bonus.
Well, as of March 16, 2018, it's offering a sign-up bonus, so we like it even more.
Apply for the card through Citi.com and you can earn a $100 cash-back bonus after $500 in purchases within the first three months of account opening. Only applications directly through Citi.com are eligible for the bonus. Applications through affiliates (including NerdWallet) do not currently qualify. The cash-back bonus cannot be combined with the 18-month balance transfer offer.
The Citi Double Cash® Card gives you 1% cash back on all your purchases, then another 1% back when you pay them off — giving you a powerful incentive to stay out of debt.
If you apply for the card through NerdWallet, you're eligible for a different offer — a long 0% APR period on balance transfers. You get an introductory APR of 0% intro APR on Balance Transfers for 18 months, and then the ongoing APR of 19.24%-29.24% Variable APR. Depending on your needs, this might be more valuable to you than a $100 bonus. Everything else about the card is the same, regardless of where you apply.
