The terms on the Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card have changed since this article was published, so this page is out of date. For current information, see NerdWallet's review of the Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card.

If you’re loyal to the Marriott Bonvoy brand but aren't interested in paying an annual fee, you've got a new option now.

Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bold Credit Card
NerdWallet rating

The Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card, issued by Chase, is open to applications as of June 11, 2019. It offers fewer perks than its pricier counterpart, the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card. But unlike that card, which sports a $95 annual fee, the Marriott Bonvoy Bold's annual fee is $0.

The new card also offers these benefits:

Current sign-up bonus: Earn 60,000 Bonus Points plus 1 Free Night Award after you spend $2,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. Free Night valued at 50,000 points. Certain hotels have resort fees.

🤓Nerdy Tip

NerdWallet values Marriott points at 0.8 cent each. This is a baseline value, drawn from real-world data, not a maximized value. In other words, you should aim for award redemptions that offer 0.8 cent or more in value from your Marriott points.

Rewards:

  • 3 points per $1 spent at Marriott properties.

  • 2 points per $1 on travel expenses including airfare, taxis and trains.

  • 1 point per $1 everywhere else.

15 Elite Night Credits each calendar year: This will qualify you for Silver Elite status, which offers perks like late checkout when available, a dedicated reservation line, a 10% point bonus on eligible hotel expenses and more.

Easy to travel with: The Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card charges no foreign transaction fee and, as a Visa card, is widely accepted around the world.

One drawback of the Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card compared with the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card is the lack of a free night at a Marriott property for each cardmember anniversary.

Both Chase and American Express issue co-branded Marriott Bonvoy cards, but the Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card is the only one with an annual fee of $0.
