Best Tilly’s Black Friday Deals From 2013

The California-based retailer Tilly’s sells clothes, accessories and equipment for action sports, such as surfing and skating.

Last year, the store featured a two-page Black Friday ad. The sales were offered in two periods: until noon Friday, and all weekend long. To early-bird shoppers, Tilly’s offered a free gift card worth $10, $25, $50 or $100 to the first 100 customers “camped out” in front of the store. Of course, the number of gift cards amounting to more than $10 were limited, but even a $10 gift card made a nice reward to the dedicated shopper.

When it came to the Black Friday deals themselves, the discounts, primarily on men’s and juniors’ clothing, weren’t too impressive, but consumers looking to buy in bulk could find some good offers, including the store’s numerous buy-one-get-one (BOGO) deals.

The BOGO offers included a discount of 50% off on the second item purchased, including the following categories:

  • Pullover sweatshirts
  • Zip-up sweatshirts
  • Juniors’ short-sleeve screen tees
  • Shouthouse thermals
  • Full Tilt thermals
  • Full Tilt cardigans and sweaters
  • Retrofit sweaters
  • Skullcandy Hesh 2 and Ink’d headphones
  • All fragrance products

Furthermore, beanies and hats were featured in a buy-one-get-the-second-for-$10 offer.

Most of the remaining deals highlighted men’s and juniors’ clothing at two for $50. The men’s department featured chinos, denim, jeggings, short-sleeve screen tees and twill, while in the women’s department, the deal applied to a range of juniors’ items from RSQ: chinos, denim, jeggings and twill.

Other deals included original penny nickel skateboards for $79.99 (regularly $114.99).

Overall, last year’s offers didn’t feature any extreme doorbusters, but for frequent shoppers at Tilly’s the discounts did make for some decent savings – especially in the case of consumers willing to camp out to make the first-100 list.
