Senior Financial Analyst I

The Senior Financial Analyst I role at NerdWallet exists to drive strategic and financial planning processes, providing crucial insights and support to their vertical. This position is pivotal in modeling business scenarios, tracking performance against KPIs, and ensuring alignment with the company's annual plan. Additionally, the analyst collaborates across departments within the vertical to optimize expense management and financial decision-making, contributing to NerdWallet's overall growth and success.

Where you can make an impact: 

  • Lead financial partnership with the Wealth vertical, contributing to developing strategic and financial planning processes by collaborating closely with stakeholders to model various business scenarios, providing insights to inform decision-making.
  • Track performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), annual plans, and budgets, highlighting areas of risk and opportunity.
  • Manage budget movement across various expense accounts and departments, ensuring spending adheres to budgetary guidelines while liaising with Accounting during month-end close to reconcile accruals and ensure timely expense recognition.
  • Support the completion of annual operating plans, leveraging business acumen and financial expertise to contribute to the company's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of financial reporting infrastructure, providing business leaders with comprehensive insights and analysis into their P&Ls.

You are:

  • Collaborative:  Work closely with  cross-functional teams and internal finance dept by contributing expertise and insights. Share knowledge and expertise with junior team members and provide guidance to colleagues on financial concepts, processes, and best practices.
  • Analytical: Use finance and accounting principles to address financial challenges and to achieve desired business outcomes. Exhibit proactive problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and business acumen.
  • Communicative: Participate in discussions, brainstorming sessions, and decision-making processes, leveraging their financial acumen to drive positive outcomes through financial modeling and analyses.
  • Innovative: Take the lead on specific projects or initiatives with little supervision, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and influencing the decision-making processes to help guide the team toward successful outcomes.

Your experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of financial planning and analysis with a proven track record in business partnering
  • Prior experience in financial analysis, strategic and financial planning, building and maintaining financial models, and financial systems
  • Experience in cross-browser compatibility, responsive design, and media queries
  • Experience in a high-growth technology company is considered a plus

Base pay offered may vary within the posted range based on several factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
The pay range for this role is$88,000$150,000 USD
