Bilt Card Adds Lyft as 5X Bonus Category If You Link Accounts

Many or all of the products featured here are from our partners who compensate us. This influences which products we write about and where and how the product appears on a page. However, this does not influence our evaluations. Our opinions are our own. Here is a list of our partners and here's how we make money.
Bilt, a credit card that allows you to pay rent and earn rewards points without a fee, is driving more earnings for cardholders.
As of March 8, 2023, those who hold the Bilt Mastercard will earn 5 points per $1 spent on the card with Lyft when they link their accounts. They must also select Bilt as the primary rewards partner with Lyft, which will negate earning points from any other linked loyalty programs.
The Bilt Mastercard has a $0 annual fee and earns the following rewards in addition to the new 5x on Lyft:
3 points per $1 spent on dining.
2 points per $1 spent on travel.
1 point per $1 spent on rent (up to 50,000 points annually).
1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases.
(Note: In order to earn any rewards, you must make at least five purchases per month with your Bilt Mastercard.)
The card offers double earnings on purchases made on the first of each month, but that doesn't include rent or Lyft rides, which will not change. Plus, as a World Elite Mastercard, the Bilt card offers a $5 credit for Lyft if you take three rides in a month.
If you’ve joined the free Bilt Rewards loyalty program, you can earn 2 points per $1 spent on Lyft without holding the Bilt Mastercard. You must link your Lyft account to your Bilt Rewards account.
Rideshare bonuses abound
The Bilt Mastercard is the latest in a growing line of credit cards to introduce elevated rewards on rideshare spending. Through March 2025, Chase’s collection of Sapphire, Freedom and Ink cards earn 5x or 10x rewards on Lyft purchases. And many Capital One credit cards are offering bonus rewards and added perks with Uber through Nov. 14, 2024. Several American Express cards offer monthly Uber credits to cardholders, too.
With so many options, it can be difficult for frequent rideshare users to choose the best credit card for those purchases. But the Bilt card stands alone in its ability to earn points from paying rent with no fees.
