Delta Air Lines credit cards have raised welcome offers for new cardholders, offering thousands more Delta SkyMiles, statement credits and introductory offers as incentives to apply.

For the first time, the issuer, American Express, is offering a low introductory APR on some Delta Air Lines cards. And the cards come with a $200 statement credit if you make a Delta purchase in the first three months, a substantial discount off a flight if you can book relatively soon after getting the card.

Here are the welcome offers for new holders.

How much are Delta SkyMiles worth?

Earning up to 95,000 Delta miles by opening a new card sounds like an eye-popping amount. But since Delta has no set award chart, it can be hard to know or to predict how far those miles will really take you.

NerdWallet values Delta SkyMiles at 1.2 cents each. This is a baseline value, drawn from real-world data, not a maximized value. In other words, you should aim for award redemptions that offer 1.2 cents or more in value from your Delta miles.

It can be harder to find "sweet spots" to redeem your Delta SkyMiles for outsized value since they follow a dynamic pricing model. That means that the more the flight costs in cash, the more it will generally cost using miles. But, SkyMiles can also be very flexible, since they can be used to book flights on both Delta and its 20-plus airline partners. They can also be used to upgrade existing bookings.
