Editor's note: Radisson is now part of the Choice Privileges loyalty program. This content is being updated to reflect this change. In the meantime, read more about this news here.

Radisson Hotel Group includes properties all over the world, mainly in the U.S., Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Although the hotel chain has two separate loyalty programs: Radisson Rewards Americas and Radisson Rewards, points can be easily transferred between them to book award nights — and it is easy to plan your points redemptions ahead of time with Radisson’s award chart.

Here's what to know about earning and redeeming free nights and other rewards in the programs.

How many Radisson points are needed for a free night?

Free nights at Radisson properties start at 15,000 points, with no blackout dates on standard rooms. Radisson’s top hotel categories require 75,000 points per night or 112,000-112,500 points for a premium room.

As long as the hotel has availability on the dates you need, you can redeem points for a free night.

Radisson award charts changes

Although Radisson now has two loyalty programs, the cost of award nights for a standard room, premium room and Points + Cash redemption remain the same in both. Radisson Rewards provides a "family room" redemption that is priced at 23%-25% above the cost of a standard room.

Radisson Rewards Americas offers discounted rooms, known as RewardSaver rooms, which cost 33% fewer points than standard rooms.

The Radisson Rewards Americas award chart

When making award bookings at hotels in the U.S., Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean, you will redeem Radisson Rewards Americas points.

To make an award booking in these regions, you’ll need to go to the Radisson Americas site.

When booking award nights at hotels in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific, you will be redeeming Radisson Rewards points.

Radisson has provided a breakout of the number of properties spread across all five hotel categories. Although the majority of hotels are concentrated in Categories 1, 2 and 3, the changes reflect a devaluation, at least in the Radisson Rewards Americas properties due to the increase in points required for each category level.

Radisson properties include the following brands:

  • Radisson.

  • Radisson Blu.

  • Radisson Red.

  • Radisson Collection.

  • Park Plaza.

  • Park Inn by Radisson.

  • Country Inn & Suites.

  • Radisson Individuals.

  • Prizeotel — operates in Europe only. Members of Radisson Rewards can earn and redeem points at its locations.

Reserving award nights in both Radisson Rewards programs

Points required for a free night often correlate with the caliber of hotel brand. To learn how to book award nights, including how to take advantage of RewardSaver rooms, which cost 33% fewer points than standard rooms, check out our in-depth guide to booking award nights using Radisson points.

Register for the correct Radisson program before making an award booking

The region that you book your hotel in determines which program you can redeem points through. If you already have a loyalty account with Radisson, log in to check if your existing account was converted into a Radisson Rewards Americas or a Radisson Rewards account.

You will need to create an account with the second program if you plan on staying at a property that belongs to a region that isn’t covered by whichever program your current account is with.

🤓Nerdy Tip

Radisson points can be transferred between both loyalty accounts as long as the same name and email is used for when signing up for both programs.

Book using Points + Cash awards, available for both programs

If you don’t have enough points for a room, you can combine points plus cash, starting as low as 5,000 points. The Points + Cash award chart is the following for both programs:

How many Radisson Rewards points will I earn on hotel stays, and how can I use them?

Radisson members earn 20 points for every $1 spent at Radisson properties. Elite members enjoy higher earning rates:

  • Silver elites earn 22 points per $1 spent.

  • Gold elites earn 25 points per $1 spent.

  • Platinum elites earn 35 points per $1 spent.

Elite members also receive space-available room upgrades, discounts on dining and other benefits. Even leisure travelers can obtain elite status fairly quickly:

  • Silver: Nine qualifying nights or six qualifying stays.

  • Gold: 30 nights or 20 stays.

  • Platinum: 60 nights or 30 stays.

The number of required points and cash depend on locations and seasonality, as well as category. For example, the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Orlando Airport goes for $98.10 cash or 30,000 points. A Points + Cash award costs 10,000 points + $65.40 for a standard king room.

Radisson Rewards for Business is available for both programs

There are also two separate business programs now: Radisson Rewards for Business Americas and Radisson Rewards for Business.

These programs are specifically for meeting planners, travel agents and small businesses. Meeting and event planners receive 5 points for every $1 spent, while small and medium businesses and travel agents receive 10 points per $1.

Earning Radisson Rewards Americas points with credit cards

The hotel’s co-branded credit cards can help you earn Radisson Rewards Americas points faster. The Radisson Rewards Premier Visa Signature® Card earns 10 points per $1 spent at Radisson properties, along with 5 points per $1 on all other spending. Cardholders also receive instant Gold elite status and a free hotel night for every $10,000 spent (up to three per year).

The welcome bonus is: None The bonus is enough for up to five free awards nights at a Category 1 hotel. This card does come with a $75 annual fee.

If you’re looking for a card without an annual fee, select the Radisson Rewards™ Visa® Card, which also issues a free night for every $10,000 spent (up to three per year). The card earns 3 points per $1 spent at Radisson properties and 1 point per $1 on everything else. The welcome offer on the card is: None Even for a no annual fee card, the offer is sufficient for two free award nights at a Category 1 property.

Maximizing the Radisson Rewards award chart

Despite the devaluation, you can still extract value from Radisson points by using your points at the hotels that declined in the nightly point price. Within the Radisson Rewards Americas program, over 200 hotels either decreased in price or remained unchanged out of the total 615 properties.

Unfortunately, Radisson hasn’t clarified which properties in the Radisson Rewards program changed in price, but on the bright side, the majority of hotels across both programs are in Categories 1 and 2, providing ample opportunities to redeem free nights at 30,000 points or less.
