AXA Van Insurance

AXA is one of the world’s leading insurers, and is one of the oldest too. The company can be traced back to Normandy in 1818, when several insurance firms merged to form the ‘Ancienne Mutuelle’. Over the latter half of the twentieth century, the company grew and expanded beyond the French borders, particularly when Claude Bébéar was made CEO in 1975. After more mergers and a decision to adopt a more international name, AXA was born in 1985. Now established as a major provider, AXA offers numerous insurance products.

AXA offers all three levels of cover: third party; third party, fire, and theft; and comprehensive. Couriers are only able to purchase comprehensive cover however. AXA also gives drivers a choice of policies for personal or commercial use, depending on whether they use their van for solely private purposes (and commuting) or they use it for their trade or business. Whilst third party policies only offer the most essential cover, the two more comprehensive policies come with extra features. For example, they may include in-van navigation and entertainment equipment cover, key cover, and a guaranteed courtesy van if your own vehicle is stolen or damaged. As well as these benefits, comprehensive AXA van insurance policies offer further levels of cover including window/windscreen cover, personal injury cover, personal belongings cover, misfuel cover, and medical expenses.

AXA policyholders can also choose to add some extra features to their van insurance, to tailor the policy to their needs. These include protected no claims discount, legal assistance cover, breakdown cover, and trailer cover (for if the trailer gets lost, damaged, or stolen). All AXA van insurance policies already have the minimum cover needed to legally tow a trailer.

Whilst AXA only allows drivers to insure one van on a single policy, they may be able to get a discount on any additional policies they may purchase.
