Budget Van Insurance
Budget Insurance is an insurance broker that was established in 1996 by businessman Duow Steyn. It aims to cater for a range of drivers and vehicles by sourcing simple and flexible policies from its network of insurers. The Peterborough-based company is part of the BGL Group and offers car, home, and life insurance, as well as van insurance. BGL was itself founded in 1992 and specialises in supplying insurance and financial services through a number of different brands, including Dial Direct and Budget Insurance.
Van drivers have a choice of the usual levels of cover: comprehensive; third party, fire and theft; third party only. Third party insurance is the bare minimum all drivers legally need, to cover themselves if they damage or injure a third-party whilst driving. As well as the standard protection for fire, theft, and damages, comprehensive insurance policies also come with a number of extra features including windscreen cover, excess reimbursement, lock cover, and cover for any accommodation needed after an accident.
Budget Insurance also has several optional extras that drivers can add to their policy such as motor legal expenses, personal accident cover, guaranteed replacement van, breakdown assistance, and tyre and alloy protection. Tools and contents cover is another particularly useful additional feature for van drivers, as it offers protection for goods and equipment that are stolen or damaged whilst in the vehicle.
If Budget Insurance policyholders need to make a claim, they can contact the helpline which is open 24/7.
