Does Singapore Airlines have Wi-Fi?

All of Singapore's aircraft with the exception of the Boeing 737-800 NG include in-flight internet access.

Be aware that the in-flight Wi-Fi isn’t suitable for activities such as using a virtual private network (VPN) or making phone calls.

Singapore’s in-flight Wi-Fi page notes that for best success, you’ll want to enable low-data mode on your phone. You should also disable auto downloads and backups. Streaming is not supported.

Unusually, Singapore Airlines also allows guests to connect to data roaming from their phones while aboard. To use roaming on your phone, you’ll need to have a phone plan that works with either Aeromobile or OnAir.

You’ll then need to connect to the designated Wi-Fi and wait for an SMS message to verify access. After that, you’ll be able to text and use the internet on your phone by relying on its roaming capabilities.

Singapore Airlines Wi-Fi cost

The cost for using Wi-Fi on a Singapore Airlines flight will vary based on how much time you’re planning to be online. There are no data caps:

In-flight Wi-Fi is only available at specific times, when the plane is traveling above 10,000 feet. You also won’t have access when flying over India, Iran and Turkey on specific aircraft.

Does Singapore Airlines have free Wi-Fi?

Unlike other airlines that restrict complimentary Wi-Fi to premium cabin passengers, Singapore Airlines has free Wi-Fi for almost everyone. This includes:

• First class passengers.

• Business class passengers.

• Those who hold a Singapore Airlines co-branded credit card in any cabin.

• Members of Singapore KrisFlyer in any cabin. 

The Wi-Fi on offer is unlimited for the duration of the flight.

How to connect to Singapore Airlines Wi-Fi

Charge your device and follow the steps to connect to Singapore in-flight Wi-Fi:

• Put your device in airplane mode, if applicable.

• Select the KrisWorld network, and you’ll be redirected to the in-flight Wi-Fi portal.

• From there, you can access your complimentary Wi-Fi (if applicable) or pay for your connection.

Limiting the cost of Singapore Airlines Wi-Fi

If you don’t want to join KrisFlyer or don’t already have an account when you’re on board, you may be forced to shell out for a Wi-Fi plan during your flight. However, it’s reasonably priced and — more importantly — there are ways to erase the cost even if you’re charged.
