Many or all of the products featured here are from our partners who compensate us. This influences which products we write about and where and how the product appears on a page. However, this does not influence our evaluations. Our opinions are our own. Here is a list of our partners and here's how we make money.

JetBlue launched its revamped Mosaic elite status program in May 2023. Instead of single elite status tier, JetBlue now offers four tiers of Mosaic elite status — each with its own set of perks.

If this revamped program has you excited about getting JetBlue Mosaic elite status, you might wonder if you can get a status match to JetBlue Mosaic. Unfortunately, JetBlue doesn’t generally offer a traditional status match program, but there are some workarounds.

JetBlue doesn't generally offer a status match

Unlike several other U.S.-based airlines, JetBlue doesn't offer a publicly available status match. However, JetBlue has offered a limited-time JetBlue status match and challenge promotion at least twice in the past decade.

The last one of these status match/challenge promotions was offered back in 2017, so there's no knowing when or if another one will be offered.

A couple of travelers publicly reported that they got a JetBlue status match by emailing JetBlue with their current status. However, these reports were only during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, when airlines were a bit more desperate to attract travelers.

More recently, travelers have gotten the following message from JetBlue: "... we strive to be fair and consistent with all of our customers, and at this time we do not provide status matches from other airline programs."

You can spend on a credit card to earn JetBlue Mosaic

Through JetBlue's new Mosaic elite status system, you can earn one "tile" toward JetBlue Mosaic elite status in either of the following ways:

  1. Spend $100 on JetBlue flights, JetBlue Vacations, Paisly by JetBlue (rental cars, hotel stays, etc.), or select JetBlue fees.

  2. Spend $1,000 on JetBlue credit cards.

JetBlue doesn't limit how many tiles you can earn through credit card spending. That means you can conceivably earn JetBlue Mosaic status purely through credit card spending — no flying required!

Spending on any JetBlue card earns tiles. That includes all three JetBlue credit cards currently available to new cardholders:

Waitlist to get a JetBlue status match through StatusMatch.com

Although JetBlue doesn't offer a status match now, that could change at any time. One way of being alerted to a new JetBlue status match opportunity is by registering on StatusMatch.com.

Take just a few minutes to enter your full name, email address and TrueBlue number on the waitlist for JetBlue Status Match. Then confirm your email address to be added to the waitlist.

Use a JetBlue credit card to mimic some Mosaic perks

Can't status match to JetBlue ? You might want to get a JetBlue credit card to get some of the same elite status perks.

For example, the JetBlue Plus Card earns you bonus TrueBlue points on JetBlue flights and a first checked bag free. Plus, you'll get 10% back on JetBlue flight redemptions, enjoy 50% off inflight purchases, and earn 5,000 bonus TrueBlue points each year.

Is a JetBlue status match worth it?

JetBlue doesn't offer a standing status match offer, and its status match and challenge promotions are few and far between. However, you can still earn JetBlue Mosaic elite status without flying — by spending on JetBlue credit cards.
