What is JetBlue Mosaic?
Mosaic is the name of elite status in JetBlue’s TrueBlue program.
After a major overhaul in 2023, the program now offers four elite status tiers: Mosaic 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Qualifying for even the lowest level of elite status, Mosaic 1, will earn you a host of perks like free checked bags, early boarding and access to Even More Space (extra legroom) seats. As you reach higher Mosaic tiers, your perks will grow.
New for JetBlue Mosaic in 2024
JetBlue added some new perks for its Mosaic members, but the requirements to earn elite status have remained unchanged.
New perks for all Mosaic members:
Avis status match (coming later in 2024).
New Perks You Pick options: IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite Status and gifting 20 tiles. (Previously, Mosaic members had to choose between gifting or getting a 20-tile bonus, but now they are two separate perks, so a member could conceivable choose both with their two options.)
New perks for Mosaic 3 and 4 members:
Dedicated phone line.
The ability to redeem Mint upgrade certificates after booking (and before the trip). The number of certificates required for an upgrade will now vary between 1 and 4.
Mosaic 4 members can now gift Mosaic 1 status, but the gifted status will not include a Perks You Pick selection, 5,000-Point bonus or JetBlue Vacations bonus.
How to get JetBlue Mosaic elite status
JetBlue now awards Mosaic status based on a new metric introduced last year: tiles.
As a TrueBlue member, you can accumulate tiles based on flying with JetBlue and spending on the airline’s co-branded credit cards.
You’ll earn one tile per $100 spent with JetBlue (that includes JetBlue Vacations, Paisly by JetBlue, JetBlue fees and JetBlue add-ons).
As a JetBlue credit cardholder, you’ll also earn one tile per $1,000 spent on your card.
Here’s what it takes to reach each tier of Mosaic elite status:
Mosaic 1: Earn 50 tiles.
Mosaic 2: Earn 100 tiles.
Mosaic 3: Earn 150 tiles.
Mosaic 4: Earn 250 tiles.

• 1 point per $1 on other purchases.

• 1 point per $1 on other purchases.
• 1 Mosaic tile per $1,000 spent.
Mosaic tiles vs. TrueBlue points
Keep in mind Mosaic tiles are different than TrueBlue points. Tiles are the metric for awarding Mosaic elite status. They also help you earn certain Perks You Pick before reaching Mosaic status at 10, 20, 30 and 40 tiles. The number of tiles you have resets at the beginning of every calendar year.
TrueBlue points, on the other hand, are essentially JetBlue’s version of airline miles, and can be redeemed for future travel. You can earn TrueBlue points by flying on JetBlue or a partner airline, purchasing a JetBlue Vacations package, making purchases on a qualifying JetBlue credit card, and several other ways. TrueBlue points never expire.
Mosaic tiers at a glance
Here are the four tiers of JetBlue elite status, how to earn them, and some of the top benefits:
Tiles needed to earn | Spending needed to earn that many tiles | Top benefits (higher Mosaic tiers include all of the benefits of lower tiers) | |
---|---|---|---|
Mosaic 1 | 50. | $5,000 on JetBlue travel. |
|
Mosaic 2 | 100. | $10,000 on JetBlue travel. |
|
Mosaic 3 | 150. | $15,000 on JetBlue travel. |
|
Mosaic 4 | 250. | $25,000 on JetBlue travel. |
|
JetBlue's Mosaic 1 tier is basically the same as the old, singular existing JetBlue TrueBlue Mosaic elite status level. NerdWallet’s annual valuation of elite status programs determined that Mosaic elite status ahead of the May 2023 program change would have cost $6,329 to earn and is worth $1,987.
From there, the expansion from two to four tiers adds a few more benefits for Mosaic members who wouldn’t otherwise be able to reach Mosaic+ status. And for the ultra-big spenders, JetBlue’s helicopter transfer benefit could be a pretty posh way to land right in the heart of the Big Apple.
How much is elite status worth?

JetBlue Mosaic benefits
JetBlue has two main types of perks as part of its Mosaic status program, including “Signature Perks” awarded to all Mosaic members (or members of a specific tier) and “Mosaic Perks You Pick.” The Perks You Pick is a menu of benefits you can choose from each time you qualify for a new tier.
Standard signature perks
Here are the standard signature perks awarded to all Mosaic status holders regardless of tier.
The first two checked bags are free for you and up to seven people on your itinerary (excess, oversized and/or overweight baggage fees will still apply). You also get a free carry-on and personal item.
Free same-day flight changes on all fares (including Blue Basic) for you and your traveling companions on the same itinerary.
Beginning 24 hours before departure, you can upgrade to Even More Space seats for free.
An expedited line at security checkpoint at some airports.
Early boarding and a dedicated boarding lane at most airports.
A dedicated customer service line available 24/7.
Complimentary alcoholic beverages onboard.
Earn up to 9 points per $1 on flights. You earn 3 points per $1 on all JetBlue flights, an additional 3 points per $1 if you book through the JetBlue website or app, and an additional 3 points per $1 for holding Mosaic status. If you book flights in Blue Basic, you will earn 1 point per $1 and an additional 1 point per $1 if you book on JetBlue’s website or app.
Avis status match: Get status into the Avis Preferred program, earning car upgrades and expedited service, plus faster points accruals toward a free rental day, depending on the tier. This new benefit is expected to roll out at some point in 2024.
Additional Signature Perks
Upon qualifying for higher tier levels, you’ll unlock additional benefits.
Upgrade to Even More Space at booking (Mosaic 2).
Dedicated Mosaic priority phone support (coming in 2024).
Book any fare and upgrade to JetBlue's Mint at no extra charge with Move to Mint. Ability to upgrade depends on availability, with a limit of four times per status period (Mosaic 3). Mosaic members will get two additional Move to Mint certificates upon reaching Mosaic 4.
Get credits for four one-way BLADE Airport helicopter transfers between Manhattan and New York-John F. Kennedy or Newark (Mosaic 4).
Gift Mosaic 1 status to a TrueBlue member of your choice (coming in 2024).
You also get additional benefits in JetBlue’s other branches, including Paisly and JetBlue Vacations. For example, if you make a car rental from Avis or Budget through JetBlue’s sibling website, Paisly, Mosaic members earn 200 points per rental day, up to five days (rather than the 100 points that all other TrueBlue members earn).
You’ll get Mosaic perks for the rest of the year you qualified, plus the next calendar year. For example, if you earned Mosaic elite status in May 2023, you’d enjoy the benefits until Dec. 31, 2024.
Mosaic Perks You Pick
In addition to standard perks, Mosaic elites get to choose an additional perk to add to their roster of benefits when they first reach Mosaic 1 status and each time they level up thereafter. Perks You Pick include:

Final thoughts on JetBlue Mosaic
Compared to other airlines, JetBlue’s TrueBlue Mosaic elite status is pretty straightforward, featuring a relatively simple tiered earning structure. It's a solid program that offers valuable benefits for those who fly with the airline often and want to get the most out of every trip.
Free checked baggage alone could save hundreds a year, but maybe the most alluring benefit for fans of award travel is the extra points Mosaic members earn for every flight they book. For those loyal to the airline, Mosaic is worth the effort to achieve.
