How this service works

This insurance service is provided by Quotezone on behalf of NerdWallet Ltd.

The data you supply and submit is collected directly by Quotezone who are responsible for the handling and processing of that data.

By using their quote system you are agreeing to their terms and conditions and privacy policy which can be found at Quotezone.co.uk

*51% of consumers could save £504.25 on their Car Insurance. The saving was calculated by comparing the cheapest price found with the average of the next five cheapest prices quoted by insurance providers on Seopa Ltd’s insurance comparison website. This is based on representative cost savings from September 2023 data. The savings you could achieve are dependent on your individual circumstances and how you selected your current insurance supplier.

Do I need car insurance?

If you drive a car on the road or in public places you need third party insurance by law, at a minimum. This will cover you if you injure other people or damage their vehicle or property.

If you drive without insurance, you could get a fine and points on your licence or face court action and criminal prosecution. The same applies if you’re the car’s registered keeper and someone else is driving it.

If you don’t drive the car and it’s kept off the road, you’ll need to declare it as off the road (SORN) to avoid a fine for not being insured.

What does car insurance cover?

There are three main types of car insurance.

Third Party Third Party,
Fire & Theft
Compre-
hensive
Injury to others or damage to their property
Theft of your car and fire damage
Damage to your car and personal injury costs
