Octopus Energy is backed by the Energy Switch Guarantee, and currently offers a variety of tariffs, all using 100% renewable energy:

  • Electric Juice – 100% green electricity tariff for electric vehicles. Designed to be used for up to 6 months.
  • Panel Power – combined energy tariff for businesses exporting solar power, designed for SMEs. Octopus currently pays those businesses for surplus energy supplied back to the grid.

Octopus fixed tariffs

Fixed tariffs enable your business to lock in the same unit rates and standing charges for the duration of the contract. While your Direct Debit can change according to your energy consumption, the energy prices will remain the same.

Understanding your Octopus business energy bill

Rather than sending estimated monthly bills, Octopus asks you to submit meter readings (unless you have a smart meter, which will automatically send them for you). They’ll then send you a statement each time you submit your reading.

The company sends out regular reminders to help you submit your readings on time.

How do I cancel my Octopus business energy contract?

You’re free to cancel your contract at any time. Octopus currently doesn’t charge exit fees. To cancel your contract, you’ll need to call the cancellation team.

If you’re switching suppliers, you’ll need to share your meter readings with your new supplier, who will then contact Octopus to organise the final bill for your business.

If you’re moving premises and want Octopus Energy to supply your new one, Octopus will cancel your existing contract for you. Alternatively, if you don’t want Octopus to supply your new premises, Octopus will cancel your existing contract within two working days of your move-in date.

If you move premises without telling Octopus, they will cancel your contract on the date when the new occupier starts taking a supply. To avoid this, you should tell Octopus that you’re moving premises within 28 days of moving out.
