AXA Home Insurance

AXA has its origins in Normandy in the 19th century, as a small mutual insurer called the Ancienne Mutuelle de Rouen. When Claude Bébéar became CEO of the firm in 1975, it was the start of its journey to becoming a national, and later, a multinational company. After several acquisitions, the firm changed its name and brand to AXA in 1985. Over the years AXA has established itself as one of the leading insurance firms across the globe, and offers insurance products for home, travel, car, health, and business. AXA aims to offer home insurance products that cater for a range of needs and enable the customer to tailor their cover to suit their individual requirements.

AXA provides three home insurance products for buildings and contents insurance: HomeSmart, HomeSure, and HomeSafe. They each offer differing levels of cover, with HomeSafe being the most comprehensive. Whichever option customers choose, they will receive a basic level of cover for risks including fire, flood, theft, and subsidence. Their buildings insurance policies may also contain other features such as alternative accommodation, replacement keys/locks, debris removal, and a repairs guarantee. AXA’s contents insurance policies, for both homeowners and tenants, may include: replacements of stolen/damaged items, personal possessions cover for contents in outbuildings, tenant liability cover, and accidental damage cover. The actual features and level of cover included in each customer’s home insurance policy will depend on which product they purchase.

Customers can also choose to purchase some optional extras, if the cover isn’t already included in their buildings/contents policy and they want the additional protection. Extra products may include home assistance, accidental damage, personal possessions cover, legal expenses, and bicycle cover.
