Amazon Gives New Prime Cardholders $200, No Strings Attached

Just ahead of Amazon Prime Day, which runs from July 16 to 17, 2024, the online retailer is once again delivering impressive gift card bonuses. For a limited time, Amazon Prime members who apply and are approved for the Prime Visa will instantly get a $200 Amazon gift card.
Unlike many new credit card incentives, there are no spending requirements to meet. That’s $200 that you can use however you want with the retailer — from summer vacation essentials to back-to-school necessities.
In addition to the limited-time bonus, holders of the Prime Visa can also earn 10% back in rewards on select products through "Prime Card Bonus" offers. Eligible products include furniture, electronics, kitchen appliances and more.
The Chase-issued card earns the following cash-back rewards:
5% back at Amazon.com and Whole Foods Market. (See tips box below for more.)
2% back at restaurants, gas stations and local transit, including rideshare.
1% back on all other purchases.
Also for a limited time, holders of the Prime Visa can snag an additional 2% back on qualifying Amazon purchases with no-rush shipping, meaning it's possible to earn up to 7% back on Amazon purchases during this time. This promotion starts on July 16, 2024, and ends at 11:59 p.m. PT on July 17, 2024.
The card charges an annual fee of $0 but requires a Prime membership, which costs $139 annually.
