Citi’s mobile app lets you handle most credit card-related tasks yourself. You can sign in with a fingerprint or an ID and password. Don’t feel like signing all the way in? The optional Citi Mobile Snapshot feature can let you view basics such as balances and several recent transactions without having to type in your credentials every time.
You can use the app to make payments on credit balances, and also to redeem rewards and set notifications.
In cases where you need to speak to an agent, the app provides a way to contact customer service directly. You’ll also find several “smart shortcuts,” conveniently located beneath your account’s balance, that can spare you the hassle of digging through the app to perform certain functions. The Citi Quick Lock feature makes it easy to lock a lost or stolen card with two simple taps. It takes only one tap to monitor your FICO score and see a breakdown of key factors that affect it. And if you’re going out of town, the “add a trip” shortcut lets you send a travel notice to the issuer with only a few steps.
The app offers a spending summary to help you monitor expenses in different categories, such as merchandise, restaurants, travel, health care and so on. But the feature doesn’t always categorize transactions correctly.
The Citi app receives favorable ratings in the app stores for iPhone and Android devices. It also is available for BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices.
