A new co-branded credit card from American Express and global sports brand Fanatics will launch later this year, according to a joint press release from the two companies.
Details about the Fanatics American Express credit card are scarce — with the release noting that specifics will be unveiled "in the coming months" — but here's what we do know:
  • It will earn "FanCash," which is Fanatics' proprietary rewards currency. FanCash can be redeemed for a variety of merchandise and experiences within the Fanatics ecosystem.
  • Holders of the card will enjoy various perks and elevated membership status in the Fanatics ONE loyalty program.
  • The card will run on the AmEx payment network, but will be issued by First Electronic Bank and serviced by financial technology company Imprint.
Separately, but related, the release also notes that in 2027, American Express will add Fanatics to its list of transfer partners. That means that if you hold an eligible AmEx card that earns Membership Rewards points, you'll be able to convert those points into FanCash.
With this move, Fanatics will become the only American Express Membership Rewards partner that isn't an airline or hotel loyalty program.
