In time for the holiday season, Southwest credit cards are offering new cardholders heftier welcome offers and a final chance to have those bonus points count toward a Companion Pass.
Through Dec. 2, 2026, eligible new holders of Southwest Rapid Rewards consumer credit cards will have the chance to earn up to 90,000 bonus points when they meet spending requirements. It's the last time these offers will count toward a 2026 Companion Pass that will be valid through Dec. 31, 2027. (This applies even if you meet the bonus spending requirement in early 2027.) Southwest’s latest changes will no longer allow welcome offers and other incentives to count toward earning the Companion Pass beginning in 2027.
