Delta Sky Club at LaGuardia Airport Review: Biggest and Best

New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is the home of Delta’s largest Sky Club, and it's one of the best in the entire network of Delta airport lounges. Not only is it spacious and tall, an outdoor Sky Deck, runway views and two well-stocked buffets.

As a frequent Delta flyer, it’s one of my favorites.

Delta Sky Club at LGA location

Delta’s Sky Club at LGA is in Terminal C. It’s open from 4:45 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Friday and 4:45 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

The exterior entry to the Sky Club has the signature wood and blue tinted glass doors.

Once you go into the tall lobby, you’ll check in with an agent or at a kiosk and go up the escalators, stairs or elevator to the main club level.

Even with seating for about 600 flying passengers, there is sometimes a wait to enter. On a recent visit, I had to wait about 10 minutes to get in. There were many empty seats inside, but I guess I would rather it have a few empty seats than be completely full.

This Sky Club location opened in June 2022 as the largest of Delta’s Sky Clubs at 35,000 square feet. It is beautiful.

There was an expansion in 2024 that added a Sky Deck, another bar and more seats.

To get into the Sky Club, you either need to be:

• A Delta Sky Club member with a same-day boarding pass on Delta or an eligible partner airline.

• A passenger traveling in Delta One or in a premium cabin on a partner airline.

• A Delta Diamond, Platinum or Gold Medallion member flying in Premium Select internationally or in Delta One. 

• A SkyTeam Elite Plus customer traveling on a same-day international flight.  

• A cardholder of a card that allows Sky Club access. Terms apply.

LGA Sky Club design

For anyone who remembers the older and smaller Delta Sky Club at LGA, this one is a welcome sight with tall ceilings, cool lighting and many beautiful spaces.

The design is expansive and is meant to feel like New York City from the turn of the 20th century.

There are several types of seating, from workstations to sofas. Many of the seats overlook the tarmac and Flushing Bay. Some high-top counters have handy hooks underneath for bags or purses.

According to Delta, the artwork around the lounge reflects “New York City’s dominance in the international art scene.” There’s a mosaic skyline, as well as several other eye-catching pieces.

There are plenty of outlets for charging throughout the club, and the Wi-Fi is strong. I learned the hard way after I got settled that the power outlets don’t always work, so check before you sit down.

Restrooms are at each end of the club and have several stalls and plenty of light.

Sky Deck

An outdoor Sky Deck at the end of the club opened in 2024. It has retractable windows in the ceiling and heating and cooling, so it is available to use year-round.

Sofa seating is along the wall under a mural of the NYC skyline, with tables, bar seating and comfy chairs closer to the windows. There are even swings.

Workstations

For privacy, people can work or chat in the phone booth-like enclosures.

Other amenities

There are no showers, but there is a shoeshine machine.

The food and drink

The LGA Sky Club has two buffets, two bars and three hydration stations.

I have found the buffet area behind the escalators always seems a bit more quiet, but isn’t as big and sometimes has things the other buffet does not have.

A desk with a Delta representative is also in this area for people who need assistance with their flight bookings.

The main buffet and bar are separated by some seating and a barrier. Even with a ton of people in the club, it still seems to feel relatively quiet.

The bar at the end of the club near the outdoor deck is smaller than the main one but was less chaotic.

I always like the food at this Sky Club since there is a variety of hot and cold choices.

During a recent visit, there were several hot items, soup, some cold salads, sandwiches, charcuterie and desserts.

The items I tried were tasty and flavorful, and actually, one was a bit too flavorful for my palate. The sweet potatoes looked innocent enough, but they packed a really spicy punch.

One thing that isn’t great is the traffic pattern for the main buffet line that goes right in front of one of the drink stations, so if many people are waiting in the food line, you feel like you’re cutting in line if you go to grab a nonalcoholic drink.

I loved the fact there was iced coffee as one of the drink options this time.

LGA Sky Club overall impression

This is a great club, whether you have just an hour or end up with more time because of a flight delay.

The food is good with a lot of variety, and the setting is relaxing. The real potential issue is spending a bit too much time in the lounge and having to book it to your gate if it's far away.
