4 Things to Know About M Club Lounges by Marriott

M Club lounges are available at select Marriott properties. Many Executive and Concierge level lounges in the Marriott portfolio have been rebranded to become M Clubs. This shift typically has slightly expanded and improved the amenities at each lounge.
1. What is Marriott’s M Club lounge?
M Clubs are a quiet space away from everything (and everyone) else. They boast 24/7 access, premium Wi-Fi and complimentary food, including buffet breakfast, light snacks throughout the day and hors d'oeuvres in the evening. Snacks from the M Club “Mind Menu” feature healthy, vitamin-rich foods. Cocktails are offered at an additional cost at most lounges. Members can also order dinner at the hotel restaurant and have it served at the M Club.
As with airport lounges, lounge amenities vary depending on location. For example, the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel offers complimentary cocktails from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Lounges in Asia and Europe are more likely to include free adult beverages. If you want to learn more about a particular lounge, Marriott has an Insiders forum where frequent travelers discuss tips, tricks and questions about lounges and more.
2. Where are the M Club lounge locations?
These lounges, while expanding, aren't available at every location you might venture to … yet. The Marriott website lists a total of 108 Marriott M Clubs: three in Africa, seven in Asia, 15 in Europe and 83 in North America.
There's an easy way to see if the location you’re visiting has an M Club. On the M Club website, scroll down to the regions and check the list, which is organized by location. Lounges are located in popular cities like Amsterdam, Zurich and Houston. Headed to California? You have 11 hotel options with M Clubs.
3. Who can access M Club lounges?
Lounge access is available to Platinum, Titanium and Ambassador Elite members of the Marriott Bonvoy program. Members can also bring one guest to the lounge.
Gain Platinum Elite status after 50 nights in a year; 75 nights will take you to Titanium Elite. If you’re truly on the road most of the year, 100 nights in a year and $20,000 in eligible spending with Marriott will bring you to the Ambassador Elite level.
If 50-plus Marriott nights aren’t on the docket for you this year, you can also get elite status through a Marriott co-branded credit card. Your best bet for lounge access is the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card, which comes with automatic Platinum Elite status.
The annual fee is $650. In addition to the welcome offer, the card comes with up to $300 in statement credits per calendar year (up to $25 per month) for eligible purchases at restaurants worldwide and a Free Award Night worth up to 85,000 Marriott Bonvoy® points. Terms apply.
Other ways to access M Club lounges
Some Marriott locations will allow you to get a room with lounge access even if you aren’t an elite member. For example, the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park has six room rate options that include M Club access.
4. 24/7 might not mean what you think it does
Though Marriott advertises 24/7 M Club access, not all lounges are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For example, the M Club in the Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel is open from 6 a.m. until midnight, daily. Hours may vary by location.
Given the COVID-19 pandemic, some lounges may be temporarily closed, so check with the lounge you plan on visiting to ensure it's open.
Plan your visits to Marriott M Club lounges
If you have Platinum status or above, staying at a Marriott that offers an M Club lounge can be a great way to experience something a little extra. A place to unwind with free breakfast, premium snacks and fast Wi-Fi can be a nice touch during your hotel stay. Though there are only 108 locations, if you frequently visit large cities, you may end up at a Marriott with an M Club.
