Cons
The Rei Mastercard is appropriate for only the most die-hard REI fans. The 5% rewards at REI are a nice perk, but they're very limiting. Most people would be better off with a more flexible rewards card. If you're looking for a 5% cash back card, we’d recommend Chase Freedom®, which will give you 5% in seasonally relevant rotating categories. Like the REI credit card, the Chase Freedom® has an annual fee of $0 and a flat 1% cash back rate everywhere else.
