We believe everyone should be able to make financial decisions with
confidence. While we don't cover every company or financial product on
the market, we work hard to share a wide range of offers and objective
editorial perspectives.
So how do we make money? Our partners compensate us for advertisements that
appear on our site. This compensation helps us provide tools and services -
like free credit score access and monitoring. With the exception of
mortgage, home equity and other home-lending products or services, partner
compensation is one of several factors that may affect which products we
highlight and where they appear on our site. Other factors include your
credit profile, product availability and proprietary website methodologies.
However, these factors do not influence our editors' opinions or ratings, which are based on independent research and analysis. Our partners cannot
pay us to guarantee favorable reviews. Here is a list of our partners.

The Chase-issued Aeroplan® Credit Card is boosting its welcome bonus for new applicants. From May 22 to Sept. 17, 2025, new holders of the Air Canada co-branded card are eligible for the following: Earn 75,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. NerdWallet values Air Canada points at about 1.1 cents each (although the value can vary based on redemption options).
Previously, new applicants could earn 60,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 on purchases in their first three months from account opening, plus an additional 10,000 points after their annual fee renewal payment.
This new welcome offer gives new cardholders 15,000 more bonus points than the card’s previous upfront offer, but has a higher spending requirement in the same amount of time.
Besides the change to the card’s welcome offer, the terms and benefits of the Aeroplan® Credit Card remain the same.
The $95-annual-fee card offers the following ongoing rewards:
3 points per dollar spent on purchases made directly with Air Canada.
3 points per dollar spent on groceries and at restaurants (including takeout and eligible delivery services).
1 point per dollar spent on all other purchases.
500 bonus points for every $2,000 spent in a month (up to a maximum of 1,500 points per month).
Points earned with the card can be redeemed for flights with Air Canada or one of its airline partners, which include those across the Star Alliance network, plus for car rentals, hotels, Air Canada vacation packages, upgrades, merchandise and more.
Cardholders also get the following ongoing benefits:
Automatic 25K status in the first year.
Earn a one-level status boost to 35K Status or higher when you spend $50,000 or more on your card in one year.
Pay Yourself Back: Redeem points for statement credit to cover any travel purchases made on the card.
First checked bag is free on Air Canada flights for you and up to eight other passengers on the same reservation.
Global Entry, TSA PreCheck® or NEXUS statement credit every four years.
Whether you want to pay less interest or earn more rewards, the right card's out there. Just answer a few questions and we'll narrow the search for you.
