With the September 2026 launch of the Navy Federal Flagship Premier Visa Signature Card, the credit union has added a higher-end, metal travel card option to its existing suite.
As Navy Federal’s most premium card, it charges a $95 annual fee. But it earns solid rewards on a broad selection of travel spending and comes with other useful benefits that can easily wipe out the cost.
Plus, new cardholders can also earn 50,000 bonus points when they make $4,000 in eligible purchases during the first 90 days after account opening.
You must be a Navy Federal member, which requires you to be an active duty member of the military, a veteran, a civilian employee or contractor for the Department of Defense, or an immediate family member of someone who is eligible to join.

Ongoing rewards

The Navy Federal Flagship Premier Visa Signature Card earns:
  • 4 points per dollar on travel, which includes airfare, hotels, vacation rentals, rental cars, online travel bookings, cruises, timeshares, ridesharing services, parking, buses, tolls and trains.
  • 3 points per dollar on dining.
  • 1 point per dollar on other purchases.
Points can be redeemed for travel, cash back, gift cards and more. Point values can vary depending on how you choose to redeem them.

Travel perks

The Navy Federal Flagship Premier Visa Signature Card offers a $100 annual airline credit for eligible purchases made directly with airlines. This includes airfare, checked bag fees, seat upgrades, in-flight Wi-Fi, and in-flight food and drink purchases. (Purchases on third-party travel sites, and charter or private jet flights, aren’t eligible for this credit.) This credit alone more than covers the annual fee.
There’s also a credit toward TSA PreCheck or Global Entry fees, plus Visa Signature benefits.

How it compares

This isn’t Navy Federal’s only travel card. The Navy Federal Credit Union® Visa Signature® Flagship Rewards Credit Card has a $49 annual fee. It earns 3 points per dollar on travel and 2 points per dollar on everything else, and it also includes a credit toward TSA PreCheck or Global Entry. While there’s no airline credit, there is a credit toward Amazon Prime membership, which is valued at $139.
If you already have this card but want the Navy Federal Flagship Premier Visa Signature Card, you can switch without having to apply. You’ll then be subject to the new card’s higher annual fee, but you won’t be charged two fees in the same year. If you recently paid the fee on your old card, it’ll be refunded.
