We believe everyone should be able to make financial decisions with
confidence. While we don't cover every company or financial product on
the market, we work hard to share a wide range of offers and objective
editorial perspectives.
So how do we make money? Our partners compensate us for advertisements that
appear on our site. This compensation helps us provide tools and services -
like free credit score access and monitoring. With the exception of
mortgage, home equity and other home-lending products or services, partner
compensation is one of several factors that may affect which products we
highlight and where they appear on our site. Other factors include your
credit profile, product availability and proprietary website methodologies.
However, these factors do not influence our editors' opinions or ratings, which are based on independent research and analysis. Our partners cannot
pay us to guarantee favorable reviews. Here is a list of our partners.

Starz plans cost $11.99 per month or $45.99 for six months, although introductory pricing can help new customers save some cash.
Here are the details.
Starz subscription cost
Starz offers two ways to pay: monthly or semiannually (every six months). Both options offer introductory pricing if you’re new to the platform.
Starz plans
Monthly: $11.99/month, or $4.99/month for the first three months for new customers.
Six-month plan: $45.99 for six months (this works out to $7.67 per month), or $19.99 for the first six months for new customers.
All plans include: Ad-free access to Starz series and movies, streaming on multiple devices and offline viewing.
Free trials: There are no free trials available through Starz.com, but limited-time trials may be available through third-party services like Hulu.
Starz can also be added to other streaming subscription bundles, such as Apple TV, Amazon Prime or Hulu. Starz costs $11.99 per month to bundle with any of the three services, although you may get a one-week free trial.
If you sign up for Starz through another platform, you would access Starz content through that platform only.
Meet MoneyNerd, your weekly news decoder
So much news. So little time. NerdWallet's new weekly newsletter makes sense of the headlines that affect your wallet.
Starz content includes original series like “Outlander” and “Power,” plus a rotating selection of movies ranging from new releases to older favorites.
Can you share Starz plans?
Starz allows up to five profiles per account, and you can stream on up to three devices at once. That said, if you’re subscribed to Starz through another platform, like Apple TV, sharing rules may be different.
How hard is it to cancel Starz?
You can cancel Starz at any time, but you’ll retain access to your subscription until the end of your billing cycle. So if you’ve paid for the six-month plan and have a few months left on it, you’ll have access until that time has elapsed. (Translation: No refunds for unused time.)
Is Starz worth it?
If you want access to Starz original content or to a solid movie library, Starz may be worth a look. This may also depend on how many other streaming subscriptions you have and whether there’s room in your budget for more.
One potential framework to consider is the 50/30/20 budget, in which 50% of your money goes to needs, 30% to wants and 20% to savings and paying off debt.
In this kind of budget, streaming services would fall into the “wants” category. For some people, movie content is non-negotiable, but for others it’s less important. If you really want to subscribe to Starz but spending is tight, you’ll have to decide where else to cut back, like impulse buys at Target or other subscriptions you aren’t using.
If your “wants” category includes several streaming subscriptions, check out rewards categories for the credit cards you have — some cards offer streaming rewards, including as much as 6% cash back.
