I’ve stayed at many mountain resorts, and Westgate Park City Resort and Spa in Park City, Utah, offers one of the best combinations of location and amenities I’ve experienced.
Located steps from the Red Pine Gondola at Park City Mountain, the hotel provides convenient access to skiing and snowboarding in winter, along with mountain biking, hiking and golf during warmer months.
The upscale resort is best for families and groups seeking slopeside convenience, offering studio suites with kitchenettes and villas that feature a full kitchen, fireplace and balcony. That ability to make food in your room is one of my favorite ways to save money on a mountain vacation.
Beyond its slopeside location, Westgate has an indoor/outdoor heated pool, several hot tubs, a spa, fitness facilities, family activities and on-site dining. All guestrooms will incur a nightly $39.99 resort fee in addition to the room rate, which covers the ski valet, self-parking, a shuttle service to downtown Park City and on-site activities.
I was invited to stay at Westgate Park City Resort for three nights during the 2025 ski season. Although the hotel covered the cost of my lodging and food, the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Westgate Park City Resort is located in Park City's Canyons Village, approximately 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) and 10 minutes from downtown Park City. Canyons Village’s restaurants, shops and equipment-rental outlets are within walking distance of the hotel.
Inside, the resort leans fully into its Mountain West setting. The lobby pairs a stone fireplace and exposed wood beams with an oversized chandelier decorated with metal pine trees, moose and bison.
Westgate’s complimentary ski valet is located at the base of the Red Pine Gondola, which provides easy access to the rest of Park City Mountain. Tell the valet when you plan to ski, and your gear will be waiting at the base of the gondola. That access makes it easy to hop on the gondola early and beat the morning rush to the slopes.
At the end of the day, simply return your gear to the valet rather than carrying it back to your room. Guests also receive access to lockers and boot warmers to dry out and store gear overnight.
Additionally, the valet offers ski and snowboard waxing and can arrange rental equipment with advance notice.
Cost and booking options
Rates at Westgate Park City vary significantly by room type and season. Studio suites can start around $200 per night during quieter periods, while peak ski-season rates can exceed $1,000 per night. Larger villas generally cost more, though their full kitchens and additional living space may offer better value for families and groups.
Before booking, factor in taxes and the $39.99 per night resort fee, which covers access to the resort’s shuttle, parking, ski valet and other property features.
Westgate Park City can be booked directly through the resort or through third-party travel platforms. Compare the total price — not just the advertised nightly rate — and review the cancellation policy, since both can vary by booking method.
My favorite option is to book through Chase’s travel portal using Chase Ultimate Rewards® points. For a two-night stay in September 2026, Chase offered a luxury suite for 31,350 points plus $99 in taxes and fees, compared with a cash price of $491. That gave me a value of approximately 1.25 cents per point with Points Boost pricing through my Chase Sapphire Reserve®, after accounting for taxes and fees. Availability and redemption value vary by card when you book through Chase, so compare the points and cash prices before booking.
Rooms
Westgate Resort has over 300 guestrooms, including studio suites that offer a small kitchenette with a mini-fridge and microwave and villas that offer a fully equipped kitchen with appliances, cookware and a dining area.
I stayed in a one-bedroom villa with a king bed and separate living area. The separate bedroom would give groups more privacy if someone were sleeping on the pullout couch. A fireplace made the space especially cozy on a snowy day.
The bedroom was spacious, and I particularly liked the soft lighting behind the stone cutouts on either side of the bed. The mattress was extremely comfortable and the room quiet despite being next to a small road.
The enormous bathroom was my favorite part of the villa, with a double vanity, bathtub, heated towel racks and steam shower that were ideal for thawing out after a cold day on the slopes.
The kitchen had full-size appliances, cookware and enough refrigerator space to make preparing meals practical.
Amenities
Pools and hot tubs
The resort’s pool facilities include a large family-friendly indoor/outdoor pool and a quieter adults-only indoor pool with a hot tub and steam room.
Families tended to congregate around the heated indoor/outdoor pool. For a quieter experience, I preferred the adults-only pool, which was nearly empty during my visits.
Spa and fitness facilities
Wellness facilities include a full-service spa, yoga studio and well-equipped gym.
The Serenity Spa offers an extensive selection of massage and treatment options. Purchasing a treatment provides access to the spa facilities throughout the day, including the sauna, steam room, hot tub and relaxation lounge. You can also access the facility without a treatment by purchasing a spa day pass.
Across the hall from the Serenity Spa is a yoga studio that offers a variety of private or group classes that rotate throughout the year, including hot, vinyasa flow and zen flow yoga.
There’s also a gym with free weights, machines and cardio options including treadmills, stair climbers and spin bikes.
Other family activities
The resort’s activities center has board games, video game consoles, movies and arts-and-crafts stations. The resort organizes daily activities such as table tennis and air hockey tournaments, and there’s a video game arcade and ping pong tables located near the indoor/outdoor pool.
Dining
Westgate Park City Resort features three on-site dining options, including upscale dining and cocktails at Edge Steakhouse, burgers and comfort food at Drafts Burger Bar and the lobby Coffee Bar.
Both Edge and Drafts have entrances from Canyons Village, making it easy to stop for a meal after leaving the mountain without walking through the resort.
Edge Steakhouse
I love high-quality cocktails and steaks, and Edge did not disappoint. The mountain-modern vibe was elegant and energetic.
Highlights included an airy Gruyère-crusted popover, spicy shrimp with sweet chili sauce and truffle mac and cheese. My dry-aged steak was tender and perfectly cooked.
Drafts Burger Bar
After skiing, I stopped at Drafts for hearty comfort food, including tater-tot “tatchos,” lemon-pepper wings and tomato soup served in a bread bowl. The standout was the Strawberry in Paradise milkshake, topped with a strawberry Pop-Tart.
The Coffee Bar
The Coffee Bar is adjacent to the lobby and offers Starbucks coffee, pastries, wraps and other grab-and-go items. The fireplace made the space cozy for settling in with a hot drink and getting some work done.
Drawbacks
While I really enjoyed my stay at Westgate Park City, there were a few drawbacks.
Westgate’s sprawling layout can be confusing. I frequently got lost or arrived on the wrong floor, partly because some elevators serve only certain parts of the property. The long distances between rooms and amenities could also be inconvenient for families with young children or anyone who prefers a more compact property.
Peak-season pricing is another drawback. Rates can exceed $1,000 per night during ski season, putting Westgate in high-end hotel territory even though parts of the property feel more like a large family resort.
Is the Westgate Park City worth it?
For skiers, snowboarders and other travelers looking for proximity to the slopes, Westgate Park City is a great option because of its combination of slopeside access, spacious villas and extensive amenities. It's an especially good choice for families and groups that will use the kitchens, pools and on-site dining and that value convenience enough to justify peak-season rates.
The location might not be a fit for everyone, though. Travelers primarily interested in downtown Park City’s restaurants and nightlife may prefer staying near Main Street. Still, the resort’s shuttle makes downtown easy to reach.
