This limited-time offer of up to 100,000 points on Southwest Airlines' consumer credit cards expired in December 2021, so this page is out of date. Just in time for holiday shopping season, the Chase-issued suite of Southwest credit cards is getting more rewarding for consumers.

Through Dec. 7, 2021, the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card, Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card and Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card will offer new cardholders the opportunity to earn the cards' highest bonus offers ever. The cards will also offer more ongoing rewards on some everyday purchases. Better still, the annual fees on all the cards will remain the same.

Additional added perks

In addition to more bonus rewards categories, the cards adding extra benefits for Southwest fliers:

  • 2 EarlyBird check-ins per year: Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card and Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card members can apply EarlyBird to two one-way flights for one passenger per year to get automatic check-in and a better boarding position. EarlyBird access starts at $15 per flight, giving this perk at least a $30 value per year.

  • Unlimited tier qualifying points (TQPs): The Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card now offers the ability to earn unlimited TQPs by spending with the card (previously capped at 15,000 TQPs). The card gives 1,500 TQPs per $10,000 spent, and you’ll need 35,000 TQPs to reach Southwest A-List status.

Is it worth it?

If you’re a Southwest loyalist and can put enough spending on the new card to earn the full bonus, this could be a good time to take advantage of this offer. With 2X-earning categories, the cards are now more rewarding to keep in your wallet.

Also, all points earned from Southwest credit cards count towards the highly coveted Companion Pass. The pass allows one person to fly with you for free (you'll just pay taxes and fees, starting at $5.60) when you purchase your own ticket. You get the pass by earning 125,000 Southwest Rapid Rewards points in a calendar year or purchasing 100 qualifying one-way flights. It's good for the remainder of the year in which you earn it, plus the next full calendar year.
