Families, friends vacationing together, bachelor or bachelorette parties, and even business travelers on a budget might find hotel rooms with bunk beds quite attractive. Not only can they help save money to spend on other pursuits, but these hotels allow them to earn or burn points during their stay, too.

Bunk beds in hotels are not always advertised front and center, and travelers may have to do a little digging to discover these high-occupancy rooms. Here are some of our favorite bunk bed rooms where you can earn or redeem points for your stay.

1. The Westin Reserva Conchal, an All-Inclusive Golf Resort & Spa (Marriott Bonvoy)

This all-inclusive paradise along the Pacific coastline of Costa Rica is a family haven. It has an enormous pool, a host of watersports, a kids club and numerous restaurants to please any palate. And when it’s time to go to sleep, the Bunk Bed Family Jr. Suite comes with extra space to play and bunk beds. Marriott’s dynamic pricing model means that the redemption cost will vary based on the dates of stay.

2. Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa (Marriott Bonvoy)

The 820-square-foot Ocean View Junior Suite with Twin Bunk Bed at Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa on Hawaii's Big Island comes with a pair of bunk beds, a master bedroom with a king bed, and a sofa bed. Sliding doors add space for privacy.

If you have made it to this tropical Hawaiian paradise and spent the day enjoying the sun, it’s nice to have a little privacy come nighttime. And your Marriott Bonvoy points can help make that happen.

The Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa is in Miramar Beach, Florida. Its Deluxe Junior Suites come with bunk beds. These 485- to 500-square-foot suites also have a separate master bedroom with a wraparound balcony and a sofa bed so that as many as six people can sleep here. These rooms are eligible to earn or redeem Hilton Honors points, and those with a Hilton Honors credit card can earn bonus points during their stay.

4. Kimpton RiverPlace Hotel (IHG One Rewards)

In Portland, Oregon, the Kimpton RiverPlace Hotel has a room called The Bunkalow Suite, which is popular with families for its bunk beds. Guests can earn and redeem IHG One Rewards points during their stay, and points multiply quickly for guests using an IHG-affiliated card like the IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card.

5. Delta Hotels Virginia Beach Waterfront (Marriott Bonvoy)

Booking one of these special rooms is a favorite of families at Delta Hotels Virginia Beach Waterfront. One room has a king bed, while the other has four comfy twin bunk beds. Packing in more value, the living room has a sofa bed. Bunk beds are fun for families or friends traveling together, and the money you could save on an additional room can be better spent on something else.

Plus, guests can earn Marriott Bonvoy points when staying here or redeem points, with the amount based on the dates of travel. Don’t forget that if you reserve a hotel stay for five consecutive nights using points, you will get the fifth night for free.

6. Moxy NYC Times Square (Marriott Bonvoy)

When it comes to hotels with bunk beds in New York City, Moxy, Marriott’s playful, youthful and affordable brand, fits the bill. The Moxy NYC Times Square has a subset of rooms that come with quad bunk beds.

This property, like almost all Marriott Bonvoy hotels, is eligible for the Stay for 5, Pay for 4 offer. But, if you pay for the stay with a Marriott Bonvoy credit card, you are eligible for bonus points (and even more points if you have Marriott Bonvoy elite status).

7. JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa (Marriott Bonvoy)

The JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa is just minutes from Walt Disney World. The Loft Family Suites provide a great place for families to stay with extra space thanks to two bedrooms, one with bunk beds that come with chalkboard walls. The suite has two full bathrooms. You can earn or redeem Marriott points throughout your stay.

8. W Aspen (Marriott Bonvoy)

The W Aspen has something ideal for families or buddies traveling together. The queen bunk beds maximize the in-room space. Travelers are most likely looking to hit the slopes early and then be back in time for apres-ski before hitting the sack.

And like other W Hotels, this property cranks up the snazzy design with great food and beverage options. Charge those dishes to your room, and you’ll earn Marriott Bonvoy points on that, too.

9. Radisson Resort & Spa Hua Hin (Radisson Rewards)

Headed to Thailand with a batch of Radisson Rewards points in your pocket? This Radisson resort in Hua Hin (about three hours by car from Bangkok) is the perfect option for its proximity to the beach and for its rooms with bunk beds.

If paying a cash rate, be sure to join Radisson Rewards for a discount. Those who are redeeming points will need to know when they want to travel as the rate will vary based on the date of their visit. Radisson Rewards elite members earn bonuses like extra points and, if you have VIP status, free breakfast, too.

10. Hyatt Place at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center (World of Hyatt)

Looking for hotel rooms with bunk beds near Disneyland? Hyatt Place at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center is close to Disneyland, which means it is great for families. Even better is the Family Room King category with bunk beds tucked behind a sliding door, creating a suite of sorts.

Guests can earn and redeem World of Hyatt points for their stay. And since World of Hyatt still uses an award chart, guests have an idea of how many points they need for a stay. This property is a Category 4 hotel, which means a redemption night costs between 12,000 and 18,000 points.

11. Hyatt Place Orlando/Lake Buena Vista (World of Hyatt)

Disney fans who may need some extra cash after splurging at the parks will appreciate the Hyatt Place Orlando/Lake Buena Vista. Hyatt Place is World of Hyatt’s lower-priced select-service brand, and its family rooms come with a sofa bed and two twin bunk beds.

This hotel can be a steal in pricey Orlando because of its Category 2 status on the World of Hyatt award chart. A redemption night here costs between 6,500 and 9,500 points (and if you’re short on World of Hyatt points, you can easily transfer them from Chase Ultimate Rewards®).

12. Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa and Casino (World of Hyatt)

At the Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa and Casino, the Resort View Family Suite has two bedrooms and a living room with a sofa bed. One of the bedrooms has a bunk bed. There is also a wet bar and a Juliet balcony to enjoy the view. This is a Category 7 hotel, so the points redemption rates are not on the cheap side, but it can still be a great way to save money by redeeming between 25,000 and 35,000 points per night.

13. Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach (Wyndham Rewards)

Furniture, Bed, Bedroom

With great views of Clearwater Beach, Florida, the Deluxe King with Twin Bunk Bed rooms at Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach are popular with families. This is not a suite so the bunk beds are in the main bedroom. The furnished balcony is another popular feature, especially when you’re earning Wyndham Rewards points for your stay.

Keep in mind that bunk bed rooms may be a premium category

Earning points for a hotel stay is one of the benefits of a loyalty program, but when it comes to redeeming points, it can be another story. Typically, programs allot most points redemptions for standard rooms, although some allow you to redeem them for premium rooms and suites.

Just keep this in mind when looking to redeem points for a room with bunk beds. You may have to pay additional points or hope for an upgrade. It is wise to contact the hotel in advance to check whether you can redeem points.
