RediRewards is the loyalty program for Red Roof properties, and its members earn points for staying at all four of the company’s brands: Red Roof Inn, Red Roof PLUS+, The Red Collection and HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof.

Points are redeemable for hotel nights, discounts with a variety of merchants and gift cards at major retailers, including Amazon and Target. Points can also be redeemed for discounts on hotel nights.

RediRewards is free to join, and it makes sense to be a member — even if you stay infrequently — thanks to perks like free bottled water and savings on room nights.

How does the program work?

Red Roof was briefly part of the Accor portfolio of brands, but it is now its own entity. Members staying at Red Roof Inn, Red Roof PLUS+ and The Red Collection earn 10 points per dollar spent. At HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof, the brand’s extended stay hotels, members earn 5 points per dollar spent.

To earn RediPoints, members must reserve their stay through an approved channel, like Red Roof’s website or its phone reservations line. Rooms reserved through a third-party channel, like Orbitz or Expedia, don’t earn points.

How do I redeem points?

The number of RediPoints needed for a hotel stay is the same every night of the year.

  • Nights at a Red Roof Inn and Red Roof PLUS+ cost 7,000 points.

  • At the Red Collection, nights cost 14,000 points.

  • Stays at HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof cost 6,000 points per night.

RediRewards also has a secondary program, called RediSave, that allows members to redeem a combination of points and cash for their stay. It amounts to a 30% discount off the cash price of the room; however, the number of points required to get the discount varies by brand:

  • At Red Roof Inn and Red Roof PLUS+ properties, guests can redeem 3,500 points for 30% off the cash rate each night.

  • At Red Collection hotels, 7,000 points will unlock the 30% discount on the cash rate.

  • At HomeTowne Studios by Red Roof, it costs 3,000 points per night for the 30% discount.

RediSave makes the most sense at expensive properties with higher room rates since the savings will be greatest.

Where will I find participating hotels?

Red Roof has hotels around the country offering comfortable accommodations for budget-conscious travelers. Perhaps most attractive for award redemptions might be hotels in The Red Collection. These midscale boutique hotels have just two locations for now — Chicago and New York City. These are places where a nice, affordable hotel can be an oasis in an otherwise outrageously expensive city.

What other benefits do members get?

RediRewards has no elite status levels, but members still enjoy a decent roster of other benefits. RediAccess is a program that offers RediRewards members a chance to get discounts for amusement parks, car rentals, airlines, restaurants, childcare services, fitness venues and financial services. There are thousands of options, and members can log in to their account to see what’s available in their area.

The free bottle of water every night is a nice perk for all members, especially compared to other hotel programs that offer this perk only to guests with elite status. RediRewards members also enjoy $2 off the upgrade cost to a premium room, as well as 500 bonus points when booking one.

Less-frequent travelers who don’t want to use points for hotel stays may enjoy redeeming their RediRewards points for Amazon and Target gift cards through the RediShop portal. A $25 gift card costs 6,500 points.

If you join RediRewards

RediRewards is worth joining if you plan to stay at a Red Roof family hotel. While you won’t be collecting points for a future stay in a swanky big-city suite or epic overwater villa, the points you earn can apply toward future stays and gift cards at major retailers. Factor in free bottled water daily, and it’s clear that this free program is worth joining if you ever plan to stay at a Red Roof-brand hotel.
