We believe everyone should be able to make financial decisions with
confidence. While we don't cover every company or financial product on
the market, we work hard to share a wide range of offers and objective
editorial perspectives.
So how do we make money? Our partners compensate us for advertisements that
appear on our site. This compensation helps us provide tools and services -
like free credit score access and monitoring. With the exception of
mortgage, home equity and other home-lending products or services, partner
compensation is one of several factors that may affect which products we
highlight and where they appear on our site. Other factors include your
credit profile, product availability and proprietary website methodologies.
However, these factors do not influence our editors' opinions or ratings, which are based on independent research and analysis. Our partners cannot
pay us to guarantee favorable reviews. Here is a list of our partners.

Occasionally, credit card issuers and their travel partners offer transfer bonuses, allowing you to get even more value from your points. For example, if your points transfer to an airline at a 1:1 ratio, and that airline is offering a 25% transfer bonus, transferring 100,000 points to that airline would net you 125,000 airline miles. That means you can transfer fewer miles to book the same award flight.

Current credit card transfer bonuses
A summary of current transfer bonuses offered by the major transferable point programs includes:
You should generally only transfer rewards to airline and hotel partners if you have a specific redemption in mind. Once the rewards are transferred, it can’t be undone. Those rewards are subject to the restrictions of the individual loyalty program, which may include expiration dates or loyalty program devaluations. If you decide to take advantage of a transfer bonus without immediate travel plans, be sure to understand those restrictions before you transfer.
Using an award search tool like PointsYeah can help you find redemption options for the transferable points you’re trying to redeem. You can even filter results to only include transferable points with a current transfer bonus.
AmEx has more airline and hotel partners than Chase, Citi and Capital One. In addition, AmEx has typically offered more transfer bonuses than these other programs.

If you want to take advantage of Citi’s transfer partners, you’ll need to get a credit card from Citi that earns ThankYou points. Unfortunately, not all ThankYou point earning cards give you access to all the transfer partners, and the ratio you can transfer points at differs depending on the card you hold.
That's especially true when it comes to American Airlines, one of Citi's most valuable transfer partners. If you want to be able to transfer ThankYou points to AAdvantage miles, make sure you have an eligible card.
For example, a card like the Citi Strata Premier® Card ($95 annual fee) will grant you access to all the transfer partners. In addition, holders this card unlocks access to more favorable transfer ratios for certain transfer partners.
