Your Guide to Renting From Silvercar by Audi

Many or all of the products featured here are from our partners who compensate us. This influences which products we write about and where and how the product appears on a page. Silvercar by Audi rents Audi sedans and SUVs only, offering a luxury car rental experience at an affordable price. Rentals include premium features that competitors usually charge for, including Sirius XM Radio and in-car Wi-Fi.
Here's what you need to know about car rentals with Silvercar by Audi for your next vacation.
Premium Rewards: The Silvercar loyalty program
When you book your first Silvercar, you’ll be automatically enrolled in their Premium Rewards loyalty program as a VIP member. Every time you rent a Silvercar, you’ll earn 1 point per dollar on the base rate, not including taxes or fees. Your points can be used to book reservations or pay for upgrades to more expensive vehicles. If you have enough points to cover at least 50% of the base rate, you can pay with a combination of points and cash.
Points earned expire after 60 months unless there is activity on your account. When you earn or redeem points, the 60-month expiration clock is reset.
Silvercar doesn't have its own credit card, nor does it partner with airline or hotel loyalty programs. The only way to earn and use Silvercar points is through car rentals.
Free rental car days can be earned quickly. A one-day rental starts at just 516 points, which is equivalent to spending $516 in base points when renting with Silvercar.
How and where to rent a Silvercar
Car rentals are available nationally with Silvercar, and their rental locations are typically found at Audi dealerships and off-site airport locations. You can reserve your car at the reservations page of Silvercar’s website.
Typically, you cannot pick up or drop off outside normal business hours, but Silvercar can be flexible. Hours vary by location. Contact your rental location to discuss your situation. Based on your timing and available staff, they may be willing to accommodate your request.
Silvercar accepts only credit cards, and they have to be in the driver's name; other forms of payment, like debit cards or cash, aren't accepted.
Generally, Silvercar doesn’t offer one-way rentals, but you can submit requests for consideration. If your request is approved, there will be a one-way drop-off fee, and a minimal rental length may be required.
Available car types
There are two SUV and two sedan models to choose from, but available rental car types vary by location.
These are the possible Audi vehicles you can choose from:
Q7 – seven-passenger, full-size SUV.
Q5 – five-passenger, mid-size SUV.
A5 – four-passenger cabriolet convertible.
A4 – five-passenger sedan.
If you choose contactless delivery in the mobile app, Silvercar will deliver the car to you and pick it up when your trip is complete.
Cost
The Silvercar rental cost varies based on the vehicle chosen, and rates can be found starting at around $49 per day. Depending upon where you are traveling and the time of year, these rates could actually be the same or less compared to other rental car agencies.

Car rental insurance options
Should you purchase Silvercar’s insurance plan? It depends. Silvercar offers four options for insuring your rental:
You and your things: Coverage for damage or loss of personal property and medical expenses for you and your passengers.
Just the car: Protects your Silvercar rental against loss or damage to the vehicle.
Other people and their things: Supplemental liability insurance that covers damage to other things besides your vehicle and for injuries to other people.
Everything you need: Includes all the above.
If the credit card you’re using to rent a Silvercar includes rental car coverage, like the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, you may not need some of the Silvercar insurance coverage. Similarly, if you have insurance for your personal vehicle, it probably covers injuries to you and your passengers. Compare coverage limits, deductibles and terms to determine whether Silvercar’s optional insurance covers you better than any existing coverage you have.
The bottom line
Just by renting your first Silvercar, you're automatically enrolled in the Premium Rewards loyalty program (though you can opt out on request, if you prefer). Then you'll earn 1 point per dollar spent with Silvercar, which you can redeem for rentals and upgrades without any blackout dates. Your points do not expire as long as there is activity on your account every 60 months — you can even rent a Silvercar with a combination of points and cash.
Although you can't earn Silvercar Premium Rewards points with a co-branded credit card or other partners, frequent renters with Silvercar can earn points quickly toward a free rental.
