I’m an iPhone user, but I passed on the Apple Card. If I had a Samsung phone, though, I’d definitely be more inclined to apply for the Samsung Galaxy credit card.
It earns 3% back on purchases made with a Samsung Wallet, a category that’s general enough to apply to many people’s daily spending. The other rewards categories are useful, too, and there’s a welcome offer. That combination of benefits in a card that doesn’t charge annual or foreign transaction fees makes the Samsung Galaxy card a great deal.
Even accounting for the fact that the Samsung Galaxy card doesn’t offer cell phone insurance, a notable omission, this credit card can be a worthy addition to the wallets of those with Samsung phones.

1% back on everything else (including purchases made with the physical card).
What’s noteworthy is that so many purchases can fit into those categories and thus earn bonus rewards. For example, the 5% rate on U.S. Samsung purchases applies to the huge menu of Samsung products including cell phones, TVs, dishwashers, refrigerators and more.
The 3% rate on Samsung Wallet purchases has the potential to be even more versatile — and lucrative. With Tap to Pay widely available at many businesses and retailers, Samsung Galaxy cardholders can earn big rewards on everyday expenses like groceries and dining.
Rewards aren’t capped and never expire.
2. Multiple redemption options give cardholders flexibility
Rewards earned with the Samsung Galaxy card may be redeemed for a statement credit, gift card, direct deposit or merchandise. You may also redeem rewards at checkout to reduce the purchase amount.
At checkout. Redemption must be completed in the Samsung Wallet app. Redemption minimum is $1.
Statement credit. Redemption can be completed within the Samsung Wallet or your Barclays account. Redemption minimum is $25.
Direct deposit. Redemption can be completed within the Samsung Wallet or your Barclays account. Redemption minimum is $25. Rewards may be deposited into any U.S. checking or savings account.
Gift cards. Redemption must be completed within your Barclays account. Redemption minimum is $25.
Merchandise. Redemption must be completed within your Barclays account. Redemption amount varies by item. Merchandise can’t be returned or refunded.
3. Card may be used immediately upon approval
Those who are approved for the Samsung Galaxy card will be able to use it almost right away. A digital card is automatically added to your Samsung Wallet and can be used for online and in-store purchases.
Samsung says the physical card should arrive in the mail within three to five business days after approval.
As of August 2026, the Samsung Galaxy card offers a welcome offer for new cardholders worth $200 after spending $2,000 on purchases in the first 90 days of account opening. That solid sign-up bonus is comparable to what you’ll find on the best cash-back cards.
Cardholders also get a 20% discount on Samsung VIP Advantage, which gives members access to benefits such as device protection with Samsung Care+, among other perks. Samsung VIP Advantage costs $149.99, so the card discount is worth almost $30.
Finally, the Samsung Galaxy card is the rare no-annual-fee card that’s made of metal — recycled steel, to be exact. It weighs an impressive 16.5 grams, heavier than some other metal cards with triple-digit annual fees.

The terms and conditions for the Samsung Galaxy credit card mention an Easy Pay Plan, which allows cardholders to finance eligible Samsung purchases for a fixed monthly fee. However, according to a Barclays spokesperson, Easy Pay is not yet available to Samsung Galaxy cardholders. That means that as of August 2026, there’s no way to finance a purchase like a pricey cell phone with the Samsung Galaxy card.
