JetBlue Airways recently announced its first domestic first class experience: JetBlue BlueFirst. It comes with a number of premium features, including more comfortable seating, seat-back ordering and priority service.
The new fare class, which can be booked now, starts flying on Dec. 8, 2026. By April 2027, it will expand to more than 30 routes, including Fort Lauderdale to New York City (LaGuardia); Washington, D.C.; and Buffalo, New York, plus Caribbean and Latin America destinations.
But depending on the tier you book — BlueFirst Base, BlueFirst or BlueFirst Flex — your benefits may vary.
Here's everything we know about the new JetBlue first class.
What BlueFirst seats are like
BlueFirst seats are in the first few rows in a two-by-two configuration. Compared with a seat in the Main cabin, you'll get up to 7 inches of extra legroom, plus a 5-inch recline. The seats, which are unique to JetBlue, are designed with Tuft & Needle's T&N Flex foam.

Each seat comes with the following features:
13.3-inch seat-back screen.
Bluetooth connectivity to pair your own wireless headphones.
USB-A, USB-C and 110-volt AC power.
Complimentary Fly-Fi high-speed internet.
The screens feature the newest version of Blueprint by JetBlue, the airline's personalized entertainment platform. This upgrade includes seat-back ordering and "Mixologist Mode," which allows you to order custom cocktails, including the spirit, mixer and flavorings.

What else you can expect when flying BlueFirst
In addition to improved comfort and convenient ordering, BlueFirst comes with the following perks:
Faster airport experience: You'll get priority check-in and access to the expedited security lane at more than 30 airports. You'll also be one of the first to board the plane with Group 1 boarding, and you'll get dedicated overhead space.
Two free checked bags (for eligible fares): BlueFirst and BlueFirst Flex fares include two free checked bags, and you'll also get priority baggage delivery, keeping your airport experience as seamless as possible. BlueFirst Base fares include one free checked bag.
FirstFare meals: The new meal service comes in a bento-inspired box on flights 899 miles or longer. Each menu option comes with an entrée, a side and a dessert. Some of the sample choices include sweet or savory crepes and sesame noodles with beef or tofu.
Premium snacks: On every flight, BlueFirst passengers can enjoy a rotation of snacks from brands like Cape Cod Chips, Pop Daddy Snacks, Sockerbit, Tosi and Wholesome Bakery.
Alcohol, coffee and tea: In addition to the unique Mixologist Mode, BlueFirst passengers can enjoy sommelier-selected wines from New York's Parcelle. You can also opt for specialty coffee from Cometeer and Joe Coffee or premium teas from Smith Teamaker.
Overnight amenities: On red-eye flights, you'll get a blanket and snooze kit.

BlueFirst routes
BlueFirst is a domestic first class experience, and JetBlue plans to offer it in all markets that aren't currently served with JetBlue Mint. Mint is the airline's business class experience available on all transatlantic flights, as well as select coast-to-coast, Caribbean and Latin America flights.
BlueFirst vs. Mint
BlueFirst comes with some impressive perks, but you can expect a higher-end experience with JetBlue Mint.
For starters, while BlueFirst seats offer 5 inches of recline, Mint seats convert into a fully lie-flat bed. On some aircraft, Mint fares come with a private suite with direct aisle access. JetBlue
Mint passengers also enjoy complimentary access to BlueHouse lounges at JFK and Boston Logan airports. JetBlue has since confirmed that BlueFirst fares do not include complimentary BlueHouse lounge access; BlueFirst flyers can only enter by purchasing a day pass or if they separately qualify via Mosaic 4 status or a JetBlue Premier Card.
Other notable Mint perks include:
15-inch or larger TV.
Tuft & Needle-designed pillow and comforter.
Open bar, with cocktails shaken on board.
Noise-isolating headphones.
That said, the two cabins will be on different routes, so you won't have to choose between them on the same flight.

Final thoughts on JetBlue BlueFirst
BlueFirst is a first class option on JetBlue routes that don't have a Mint class. BlueFirst seats come with a lot more legroom, a more advanced seat-back experience, and premium food and beverage options you can order directly from your seat.
The seats don't lie flat like JetBlue Mint seats, but the two fare classes will remain on different routes, so you don't have to choose between one or the other.
