I’m not sure where this website is getting a 1% rewards rate for this card. That is not correct. This card is based off a point system and therefore the reward rate fluctuates depending on the chosen flight you book. You can often get a roundtrip flight for 13,000 points which is equal to $13,000 or less (depending on how many double rewards points you earn on specific categories) on your card. If the total round trip flight cost is only $250 including fees (a good price) then you would be getting a 1.9% rewards rate.

Hi Alex. The 1% reward rate is an estimate, and the actual reward rate will fluctuate up and down depending on which flights you book, when you fly, and what your current elite status is within the frequent flyer program. While we try our best to distill all rewards programs down to the cleanest and simplest numbers possible, the value of many features is subjective and will be completely different for different individuals like yourself.
We acknowledge this shortcoming, which is why we offer a slider near the bottom of the left sidebar where you can adjust the mileage value up or down, according to how much you, personally, value frequent flyer miles.
We also put together an infographic a while back where we estimated the value of frequent flyer miles on different airlines. Any such analysis will have its own flaws, but these tools should give you a starting point for comparing the rewards offered by different airline credit cards.
Hope that helps, and good luck!
Alex
You’re right, I apologize! I overlooked the “how you value miles” slider and that accounts for the differnce.
Sorry about that, and thank you! Awesome website!
