NerdWallet Review: The Capital One® Spark Select Business Credit Card

No balance transfer fee: This card does not have a balance transfer fee, which is the one-time charge assessed on the amount that you transfer from another credit card. This is one of those fees that people tend to forget about, so many banks jack it up to 5% knowing that no one will notice. It speaks to [nw:issuer]'s ethics that (in this at least) they're fair even when no one is watching.

No annual fee: There's no annual fee for the Capital One® Spark Select Business Credit Card. No-fee cards are ideal for those looking to keep the account open for a long time. Your credit score includes your average account age, so keeping cards open boosts your FICO score.

Promotional APR period: The Capital One® Spark Select Business Credit Card offers an intro APR period. A low-APR promotion lets you make a large purchase and pay it off interest-free for a while.

No foreign transaction fee: The card's foreign transaction fee is waived. This fee is usually 3% of all your overseas purchases, and can be quite a burden. For example, if you spend just $2,000 abroad, that's $60 to your credit card company. If you're the type to travel abroad often, you should probably consider a waived foreign transaction fee to be standard, instead of a nice-to-have.

Credit Card Showdown: Capital One® Spark Select Business Credit Card vs. Ink Cash Business

Smaller signup bonus: The Capital One® Spark Select Business Credit Card has a smaller signup bonus than its competitor, so you leave some money on the table to begin with. Of course, that isn't the only thing that matters about a card, but still, good to know.

Same late payment fee: The Capital One® Spark Select Business Credit Card has a late fee that's the same as the one on the Ink Cash Business. Of course, you should avoid incurring late payment fees anyway. Besides having to pay a one-time charge, you might incur a penalty APR that stays with you for 6 months or more.

Higher cash advance APR: The card's cash advance APR is higher than the Ink Cash Business's. If you take cash from a teller or an ATM, you'll pay more. Remember that cash advances begin accruing interest that day, so the difference in interest rates gets worse if you wait to pay it back.
