Verdict – The Chase Sapphire Card gives you flexibility with Chase’s Ultimate Rewards program and the Ultimate Rewards Mall, but doesn’t stand out of the pack for benefits.
The Chase Sapphire Card offers 2% back on dining and 1% everywhere else. There are no expiration dates and no limits on how many points you can earn. Plus, there are travel benefits like expense coverage if your trip is delayed more than 12 hours, or full reimbursement if your trip gets cancelled.
There are a lot of other cards out there that give you more bang for your buck, like the Chase Freedom which will give you cash back and up to 5% back on select categories every quarter. The Chase Sapphire® Preferred gives you a 25% points boost if you redeem for travel, has no foreign transaction fees, and allows you to transfer points at a 1:1 value with travel programs, but it also has a $95 annual fee (waived the first year). Even the Capital One® Cash rewards card gives you 1.5% back on all purchases with no annual fee.
