Eligible Capital One cardholders who've been turning to streaming services during the COVID-19 pandemic can earn bonus cash back on those expenses for a limited time.

Through Dec. 31, 2020, the Capital One Savor Cash Rewards Credit Card and the Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Credit Card will earn rewards on popular streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu and Disney+ at the following rates:

  • Capital One Savor Cash Rewards Credit Card: 4% back on eligible streaming services. The card will also continue to earn 4% back on dining and entertainment; 2% back at grocery stores; and 1% back on all other purchases.

  • Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Credit Card: 3% back on eligible streaming services. The card will also continue to earn 3% cash back on dining and entertainment; 2% back at grocery stores; 1% back on all other purchases.

Normally, for either card, streaming services do not qualify as an "entertainment" purchase, and therefore they don't earn either card's highest rewards rate. But this move temporarily changes that.

This is the second such limited-time shake-up for Capital One cards since the pandemic began. In April, the issuer announced temporary changes for eligible Venture and Spark cardholders, making reward redemptions more flexible. The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card, for example, will allow 1:1 mile redemption for eligible streaming services as well as eligible restaurant delivery and takeout, also through Dec. 31, 2020.
