What does Faye travel insurance offer?
Faye travel insurance has one plan with fairly comprehensive coverage, and you can choose several add-ons to get exactly what you want. But you can’t increase or decrease the coverage limits. The medical coverage is primary and preexisting conditions can be included.
Faye travel insurance plans include coverage for:
Trip cancellation up to 100% of trip cost.
Trip interruption up to 150% of trip cost.
Emergency medical evacuation expense up to $250,000.
Coverage for preexisting conditions if the plan is purchased within 14 days of making the initial trip deposit.
Medical evacuation up to $500,000.
Trip delay of $300 per day and capped at $2,100.
Missed connection up to $200.
Trip inconvenience up to $200 per incident up to $600.
Faye lists a delay at security as a covered reason for travel inconvenience coverage, so if you’re one of those people who like to cut it close at the airport, this coverage could be for you.
One unusual feature is the inclusion of $100,000 coverage for nonemergency medical evacuation. That coverage kicks in when you need transportation from where you are to somewhere safe after a covered event like a natural disaster or security evacuation.
There is also coverage for lost or damaged baggage, delayed baggage or lost passport or credit cards.
Add-ons include Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) coverage as well as several other extras, including coverage for:
Rental cars.
Coverage for medical-related expenses if you are injured while participating in extreme sports that are defined in the policy. Policies without the add-on include recreational activities like snorkeling, horseback riding, biking and more.
Vacation rental damage if you accidentally damage the rental where you’re staying.
Reimbursement for pet care expenses if you get home later than you thought.
Faye travel insurance also has a mobile app where you can purchase a plan, get help from customer service and submit claims. The app also has a way to access telemedicine appointments 24/7.
Some unique coverages for Faye include:
Rental property lockout.
Internet usage fee during travel delays.
Airline club admission fee during travel delays. You can find available lounges in the Faye app and if a free one isn’t available at your airport, you can get reimbursed if you have to pay for lounge access.
Cost and coverage determine which travel insurance you buy. Let’s look for a plan for a 35-year-old man from Illinois who is planning a $1,500 weeklong trip in Mexico. Here's how the costs add up:
The general plan costs $112, without any additional add-ons.
CFAR coverage is available for this trip for $31, but note, if you want it, you cannot increase the trip cost at a later date, so make sure you estimate your costs correctly.
You can add rental car coverage for $8 per day per car (total of $56), adventure sports coverage for $54, vacation rental damage coverage for $17 and pet care coverage for $25. A cool thing about the car rental coverage is you can select the number of days you want it, so it does not need to be in place for the entire trip.
Adding all of the additional coverage options increased the total cost to $295.
It’s easy to buy Faye travel insurance online. After putting in general details and getting the quote, select "get covered."
Then you’ll add personal details like your address and payment details.
A virtual assistant is available at any time by selecting “help.”

Faye travel insurance touts its app as award-winning and says it can keep travelers protected, informed and inspired.
Before your trip, you can use the app to buy an eSIM, upload travel documents, track flight alerts and more. During your trip, you can access telemedicine services, get lounge access during long flight delays, find pharmacies, convert currency, check the weather, talk to customer service and more.
Filing a claim with Faye travel insurance
Faye says its fast claims process sets it apart from other travel insurance companies. If you file a claim in the app, money can go straight into your wallet on your phone if you want.
Using the app, select your trip, then file a claim. From there, you’ll explain a bit about what happened and upload any supporting documents. Add up the amount you’re claiming and submit.
If you don’t want to file a claim using the app, you can do it via email.
Faye says the company will process claims within 48 hours of receiving all of the necessary information. If they need any additional information, they’ll contact you via chat or email.
If the claim is approved, you can get funds into your phone’s wallet on a Faye Wallet or into a bank account via transfer.
You can check the claim status at any time in the app or by calling customer service.
Is Faye travel insurance worth it?
Faye travel insurance has all of the coverages other companies have, as well as a few additions.
The Faye app is comprehensive with not only policy information but also other trip necessities like a currency converter and travel planning tools.
You can do everything via the app like buy a policy and file a claim. The money from the claim can even go directly into your phone’s wallet.
And you might even be able to wait out a long flight delay in an airport lounge, courtesy of Faye.
