Let’s admit it — Disney has a lock on immersive experiences. Whether you’re strolling down Main Street or eating your way around the world at Epcot, Disney does remarkably well at convincing guests they've been transported elsewhere.
In keeping with that theme, the new Disney Star Wars hotel seeks to satiate even the most fervent of Star Wars fans. The only problem? It’s eye-wateringly expensive — but it doesn’t have to be. Although it’s not easy to redeem travel rewards for this experience, it can still be done.
Let’s take a look at how to book the Star Wars hotel with points.
What is the Star Wars hotel?
If you’re unfamiliar with Disney’s newest property, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser opened on March 1, 2022, near Orlando, Florida. It’s more than a hotel: Not only are your meals included, but so is a Disney World park admission ticket and plenty of interactive entertainment. There’s even a gala.
All of this takes place over a span of two nights, though you can always book additional hotel nights (even with points and miles) elsewhere if you’d like to stay longer.
There isn’t room for negotiation on pricing for this hotel. Packages for two adults start at $4,809 and increase as you add guests. We don’t blame you if you’re cringing at the price; paying $2,400 per night for a hotel is out of many people’s budgets, even if it does include food and entertainment.

How to book the Star Wars hotel
The Star Wars hotel can’t be booked online. You can, however, view live availability through the hotel’s website.
To get to the calendar, you’ll want to go to the hotel website and select “Start Planning” in the top toolbar.
From here, you’ll need to scroll way down the page, past the cabin descriptions and the package pricing, to find the calendar.
The calendar shows you all available dates. Note that there are specified dates on which you can start your experience.
Once you’ve found a date that works for you, you’ll need to select that date on the calendar. This will provide you with the phone number to call for reservations.
There is a 20% deposit required with the full balance due 90 days before your travel. You can also cancel in full up to 90 days in advance; after that, you’ll start forfeiting various amounts of money.

Redeeming points for your Star Wars hotel stay
So, now we know how to book this exorbitantly priced hotel. But how do we redeem points for this purchase?
Savvy points and miles travelers likely know that you can’t usually buy Disney World tickets using your travel rewards — unless you bundle them together into a vacation package from Disney.
These vacation packages code as travel on your credit card rather than entertainment, thus allowing you to use certain cards to offset these costs. Happily for Star Wars fans, the Galactic Starcruiser is also considered a vacation package, opening the door to plenty of different point redemptions.
Each of these cards earns Capital One Miles, which can be redeemed at a rate of 1 cent each toward travel purchases charged to the card. Basically, you charge the room to your card as normal, then you can use the Purchase Eraser perk and redeem your points to effectively “erase” your charges with statement credits.
In order to redeem miles for this hotel, you’ll need to do so within 90 days of purchase.
Bank of America
Much like the Capital One cards, the Bank of America® Travel Rewards credit card allows you to redeem your points at a value of 1 cent each toward all travel purchases.
You’ll also find this option on the Bank of America® Premium Rewards® credit card, though you’ll have even more flexibility with this card.
Points can be redeemed at a rate of 1 cent each toward any purchase you make, including the Star Wars hotel. If that doesn’t interest you, you can also opt to receive a deposit straight to your bank account at the same rate.
Chase is more of an honorable mention in this article because there’s no great way of redeeming your Chase Ultimate Rewards® points toward this hotel. However, Chase does offer the Disney's Premier Visa® Card, which earns Disney dollars valid toward Disney purchases.
Each Disney dollar that you redeem is good for $1 off of your total price. You’re also able to finance Disney vacations — including the Star Wars hotel — at a 0% APR for up to six months.
Finally, the Disney's Premier Visa® Card comes with some additional perks that can help you during your stay, such as discounts on certain merchandise items and select restaurants.

If you want to book the Star Wars hotel with points
There’s no denying that the Galactic Starcruiser experience looks like an exciting, albeit tremendously expensive experience. Although it’ll cost you upwards of $4,000 for a two-night stay, redeeming a variety of points can be a smart money move and help lessen the sting.
