The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express may not have as enticing welcome offer as some cards, but it can still be an excellent choice for many small businesses.
That’s because it offers the opportunity to earn 2x Membership Rewards points on all purchases, in all spending categories, up to $50,000 per calendar year. By using this card, your small business could earn up to 100,000 Membership Rewards each year. That’s a value between $500-$1,000 depending on how you redeem your rewards, all from a card with no annual fee. Terms apply.
The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express is great for businesses with spending spread out over many different categories, because it earns 2x no matter where the money is spent. No need to worry about using certain cards for certain purchases or keeping track of rotating bonus categories. Terms apply.

If you’ve recently been approved for the card, here are the first five things you should do next.
1. Set up your account online or download the app
Head over to the American Express website (or app) and activate your new card. Once you’ve logged in, navigate over the Statements & Activity tab. That’s where you can monitor the spending on your account, search for specific charges, and manage the expenses and receipts for your business.
Scroll down the page a bit and you’ll see your AmEx Offers & Benefits. Click “Add to Card” on the offers you think you’ll use, and the savings can add up quickly. Use your card when you make a qualifying charge with the merchant, and your account will be credited automatically with the offer.
2. Add employee cards
The Blue Business® Plus Credit Card from American Express makes requesting cards for your employees easy — you won’t pay extra to add employees to your account, and you’ll earn Membership Rewards points from their purchases.
When you’re logged into your account, go to the Employee Controls page and you can add employee cards with the click of a button. You can keep track of charges, set limits on spending, and even freeze or unfreeze cards as needed.
3. Consider the purchases that will help your business
If you need to make purchases for your business now but want to be able to pay for them later without penalty, then you’ll want to charge them on your new card. You'll get an introductory APR offer: 0% intro APR on Purchases for 12 months, and then the ongoing APR of 13.24% - 19.24% Variable APR. The ability to make charges interest-free for the first year can really help a small business get off the ground. Terms apply.
If you need to make a purchase larger than your credit limit allows, you can take advantage of Expanded Buying Power. Use your card to make large purchases beyond your credit limit without penalty, and you can choose to pay for them over time.
