At NerdWallet, we are focused on helping people lead better lives through financial education and empowerment. We are an online company, but we strongly believe in acting on our mission in person and giving back to the community to help empower those around us.
That’s done through our employee-led corporate social responsibility program, NerdsPayItForward. In the 18 months since the program was launched, our Nerds (NerdWallet employees) have volunteered at more than 40 events and raised thousands of dollars for local and national organizations.
And now, NerdsPayItForward is excited to give back to the community in another way: through its first community grants.
NerdsPayItForward has developed strong relationships with multiple community organizations that align with its mission of supporting its neighbors in the Tenderloin area and the larger San Francisco community through financial literacy and empowerment.
The program is honored to have worked closely with three special organizations — Project Homeless Connect, St. Anthony’s and Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation (TNDC) — and is excited to present them grants of $5,000 each.
Please join NerdsPayItForward in thanking the groups for their efforts to improve the lives of people. We look forward to continuing this journey together to help people lead better lives through financial education and empowerment.

St. Anthony’s has been a San Francisco institution for more than six decades, providing essential support to people living in poverty. The foundation provides hot meals, free clothing and a medical clinic, among other services.
The Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation provides affordable housing for thousands of low-income San Franciscans. TNDC also runs after-school programs and a community garden, and provides social services.
