Have you ever been confused by how much a point or mile is worth? Orbitz has made this straightforward with its Orbitz Rewards program — 1 “Orbuck” is worth $1. And the Orbitz Rewards Visa Card allows you to earn Orbucks even faster.
While anyone can join the Orbitz Rewards program, there are some benefits that are much better for those who have the Orbitz Rewards Visa Card. Here are five reasons to consider it.
1. Up to 10% rewards return on hotels
The Orbitz Rewards Visa Card allows cardholders to earn up to 10% back on hotel bookings. This is 5% more than standard Orbitz Rewards members can earn. That means if you spend $100 on your hotel reservation, you’ll earn 10 Orbucks, worth $10. That adds up fast for future trips.
To get the 10% back, cardholders must book their hotel stay on the Orbitz app. Hotel reservations booked on the Orbitz website earn cardholders 8% back in rewards.
2. Gold status with VIP hotel privileges
Travelers with this card automatically receive Gold status with Orbitz, which usually requires staying at hotels booked through Orbitz for four nights. Gold status gets cardholders VIP benefits that may include free parking, ground transfers, resort credit or a VIP greeting.
3. The sign-up bonus
The Orbitz Rewards Visa Card, which has an annual fee of $0, has the following sign-up bonus: Get $100 statement credit after you spend $1500 in the first 90 days.
4. Automatic dining rewards enrollment
Orbitz made it easier to earn more rewards at qualifying restaurants by automatically adding cardholders to the Orbitz Dining Rewards program. Cardholders earn 7% back in rewards at Orbitz dining rewards restaurants. Standard Orbitz members need to enroll in this program separately and can earn only 5% at the same participating locations.
5. 6% rewards on flights, 2% back on all other qualifying purchases
Again, cardholders earn a bonus over standard Orbitz Rewards members for flight purchases. While standard members only earn 1% back, Orbitz Rewards Visa Cardholders earn 6% back in Orbucks.
When you aren’t traveling or eating at an Orbitz dining rewards location, cardholders earn 2% rewards on all other purchases.
