Best Citi Balance Transfer Credit Cards
Choosing a Citi balance transfer card comes down to what you want: a long 0% APR promotion, rewards or both.

Many or all of the products on this page are from partners who compensate us when you click to or take an action on their website, but this does not influence our evaluations or ratings. Our opinions are our own.
Interest payments can make existing credit card debt or new purchases cost more, but credit cards offering 0% APR promotions can help you save while you pay down a balance over time. Here are some of the other perks you can find in select Citi balance transfer cards:
- Long intro APR periods, which give you a hefty amount of time to pay down a large balance.
- A sign-up bonus, which can make a major purchase even more rewarding.
- Ongoing rewards, which can be helpful if you plan to keep using the card after you pay down the balance.
- No late fees, which can save you an added cost if you accidentally miss your payment due date.
Each of these Citi cards offers some, though not all, of these benefits. Here are the best Citi credit cards with balance transfer offers:
Citi® Diamond Preferred® Card
Our pick for: Ultra-long 0% APR period
Card details
Rewards: None.
Welcome offer: N/A
Annual fee: $0.
APR: 0% intro APR on purchases for 12 months and 0% intro APR on balance transfers for 21 months, and then the ongoing APR of 16.49%-27.24% Variable APR.
Why we like it
If your main goal is debt repayment, it’s hard to beat nearly two interest-free years to pay off a transferred balance. The no-interest promotion isn’t as long for new purchases, however, and the Citi® Diamond Preferred® Card doesn’t earn rewards. There is an intro balance transfer fee of 3% of each transfer (minimum $5) completed within the first 4 months of account opening. After that, your fee will be 5% of each transfer (minimum $5).
Citi Simplicity® Card
Our pick for: No late fees
Card details
Rewards: None.
Welcome offer: N/A.
Annual fee: $0.
APR: 0% intro APR on purchases and balance transfers for 18 months, and then the ongoing APR of 17.49%-28.24% Variable APR.
Why we like it
The Citi Simplicity® Card offers a shorter 0% period for transfers than the Citi® Diamond Preferred® Card but a longer one for purchases, plus an added benefit: no late fees or penalty APR. If you’ve forgotten a credit card bill or two in the past and want the cushion from financial consequences just in case, this is a helpful benefit. Otherwise, the card offers no sign-up bonus or rewards.
18 Months of 0% to Whittle Down Debt
👀 Start saving money ASAP. This card offers an extra long pause on interest on balance transfers.

Citi Double Cash® Card
Our pick for: High flat cash-back rate
Card details
Rewards: Earn 2% cash back on all purchases (1% back as you buy, 1% back as you pay).
Welcome offer: Earn $200 cash back after you spend $1,500 on purchases in the first 6 months of account opening. This bonus offer will be fulfilled as 20,000 ThankYou® Points, which can be redeemed for $200 cash back.
Annual fee: $0.
APR: 0% intro APR on balance transfers for 18 months, and then the ongoing APR of 17.49%-27.49% Variable APR.
Why we like it
The Citi Double Cash® Card has a generous no-interest period for balance transfers, and it charges 3% of the amount transferred or $5 (whichever is greater) for transfers completed within the first four months of account opening; 5% fee or $5, whichever is greater, after that. Plus, its high cash-back rate for all purchases makes it a card worth holding on to even after you’ve paid down your debt. However, there's no 0% APR promotion for new purchases.
