The Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Legend Mastercard® is making it possible for new cardholders to stash away more miles toward the next getaway with its newly enhanced welcome offer. The card now offers 125,000 AAdvantage bonus miles after spending $15,000 in purchases within the first 5 months of opening the account when you apply online.
It’s a large increase from the previous welcome offer of 70,000 bonus miles earned with $7,000 spent in purchases within the first three months of opening the account. However, it requires a great deal more spending to earn it.
Still, it can be worth pursuing if American Airlines is your carrier of choice and it aligns with your budget. The timing of the bonus is ideal since its spending window will include the holiday season and the expenses that come with it.
Outside of the bonus, you’ll also earn perks and rewards that can help offset the hefty $695 annual fee. The card's ongoing rewards include:
- 10 miles per $1 spent on eligible car rentals and hotels booked through AA.
- 4 miles per $1 spent on eligible American Airlines purchases. (This rises to 5 miles per dollar after spending $150,000 total on the card in a calendar year.)
- 1 mile per $1 spent on everything else.
As a cardholder, you’ll also receive an Admirals Club membership, the first checked bag free on domestic American Airlines itineraries for you and eight companions traveling on your same reservation, and a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck application credit, among other incentives.
