Claims
Wagmo processes most wellness claims in 24 hours, but accident and illness claims may take longer. For insurance claims, you can get reimbursed via bank deposit or check. For wellness claims, you can get reimbursed via bank deposit, PayPal or Venmo.
Unlike many insurers, Wagmo applies your deductible to your vet bill first, then your reimbursement rate. That makes for a more generous payout than you might get from other companies.
Here’s how the math would work if you had a $1,000 vet bill, a 90% reimbursement rate and a $250 deductible.
How Wagmo calculates claim payouts: Deductible first
$1,000 vet bill - $250 deductible = $750.
$750 x 0.9 (90% reimbursement rate) = $675 reimbursement.
How much you pay: $325.
How some other insurers calculate claim payouts: Reimbursement rate first
$1,000 vet bill x 0.9 (90% reimbursement rate) = $900.
$900 - $250 deductible = $650 reimbursement.
How much you pay: $350.
