NerdWallet and Open Listings, a platform that enables buyers to shop for homes on their own, have teamed up to help California home buyers reduce the cost of buying a home. This integrated partnership will provide clarity on the homebuying process, and California home buyers will now be able to:
Use NerdWallet’s Home Affordability Calculator to quickly identify how much house they can afford by entering key information such as household income, down payment and monthly debt
Receive personalized mortgage rate recommendations through NerdWallet’s mortgage rate tool, which compares rates from dozens of lenders to determine which offer is best for their individual financial situation
Search for a home and get paired with an agent online through Open Listings’ platform, which will allow home buyers to be refunded 50% of their agent’s commission when they buy a home in California
"Home buyers are confused about how much their home will actually cost, and individual lenders are disincentivized to provide clear answers and organized data for comparison," said Judd Schoenholtz, CEO of Open Listings. "So we are excited to partner with NerdWallet to provide home buyers with trustworthy and transparent information to empower them to make confident financial decisions about buying a home.”
