The Platinum Card® from American Express and other eligible Platinum-branded consumer cards from AmEx have a new benefit, “Shop Saks with Platinum,” that will give cardholders up to $100 in annual statement credits for any purchases made with the card at Saks Fifth Avenue stores in the U.S. or online.
Starting July 1, 2018, cardholders can register for the benefit by logging in to their AmEx account online. The benefit becomes effective on the same day. There is no minimum purchase amount required to earn the statement credit, but terms do apply (see rates and fees).
The perk offers credits semiannually. Cardholders receive up to $50 in statement credits for shopping at Saks from January through June, and up to $50 in statement credits from July through December.
"'Shop Saks with Platinum' underscores Saks’ continuous goal of enhancing our clients' end-to-end shopping experience by bridging two powerhouse brands ― Saks and American Express ― and providing benefits to improve their overall experience,” said Emily Essner, senior vice president, marketing and digital, Saks Fifth Avenue, in a news release. "We're excited to offer this benefit to Platinum card members and invite them to experience Saks."
Saks purchases will also earn 1 point per $1 spent with The Platinum Card® from American Express. The card currently offers 5 Membership Rewards points for every $1 spent on airfare purchased directly from airlines or booked through American Express Travel, 5 points per $1 spent on hotels booked with American Express Travel and 1 point per $1 on all other purchases. Terms apply.
In addition to the Saks benefit, card perks include airport lounge access and a $200 annual airline fee credit, to name a few. The annual fee is $695.
