The easiest way to check your application status for a Credit One credit card is online. Enter your Social Security number and last name into the company’s application status page to see where you stand.

You can also call Credit One at 800-752-5493. The company handles calls seven days a week from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Pacific time Monday through Friday, and from 6:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. on the weekends.

Depending on how you applied for the card, you could be approved almost immediately, or you may have to wait for the company to receive and process your application.

Approach Credit One with caution

If you’re interested in any of Credit One’s products, be warned: The company is a magnet for complaints. A NerdWallet review of disputes filed with state and federal regulators found:

  • The Nevada-based company is in the top 1% of businesses that get the most complaints at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

  • Across hundreds of complaints to federal and state regulators, consumers describe payments taking a week to be credited to their accounts, resulting in unexpected late fees.

  • Customers complained that they were charged late fees even when payments were made on time.

  • Account holders also say they’ve struggled to make their monthly credit card payments online, instead of having to pay by phone at an additional cost.

Beyond the issues that led to those consumer complaints, Credit One’s card terms and application process fall short on transparency. Basic product details including fees, interest rates, rewards and even whether a grace period is offered aren't revealed to applicants until after they qualify for a card.
