» These offers have expired

The limited-time bonus offers described in this article have expired, so this page is out of date. See our details pages for the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card and the Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card for the current offers.

Cardholders of the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card and the legacy Marriott Bonvoy American Express are getting an incentive to do more of their holiday shopping with the nation's biggest retailers.

The cards can earn an extra 6 points per $1 spent at Amazon, Walmart and Target, on up to $3,500 in spending, through Dec. 27, 2020. Combined with the usual 2X rewards you earn for such spending, that comes out to 8 points per $1 spent. Cardholders must enroll their card in the promotion to be eligible. Terms apply.

Separately, holders of the Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card will receive a special holiday offer in the coming weeks, American Express says.

🤓Nerdy Tip

The Amazon/Walmart offer does not apply to the Marriott credit cards issued by Chase — the Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card and the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card.

The bonus rewards at Amazon, Walmart and Target are coming a couple of weeks after American Express and Marriott introduced limited-time bonus offers that could net new cardholders 100,000 to 125,000 points for meeting spending requirements (terms apply).

They also follow a three-month period in which holders of Marriott AmEx cards were able to earn 10 points per $1 on combined spending of up to $7,500 at U.S. gas stations, U.S. restaurants and Marriott Bonvoy hotels. That promotion ended Oct. 31.

If you aren’t using many of your Marriott Bonvoy points at the moment, you can choose to use them to give back this holiday season. Points can be donated to a variety of organizations through the Serve 360 program. Donating your points isn’t always the best idea, but it can make sense in some scenarios.
